Today, I received an e-mail from the Unemployment Department saying they had a job referral for me. After excitedly reading the description, I realised it was the job I'd just been fired from (at a much higher pay). If I don't go through the application process, I will be denied my unemployment. FML

Today, while despairing over having been rejected for my dream job, I received an email asking me to come back in for another interview. Then they called me to say they accidentally sent the email to all the applicants, and that they definitely aren't interested. FML
Today, after finally getting a job offer after months of unemployment, I found out that the person who was going to hire me got fired. Which means I'm not getting the job. FML
Today, I was laid off from my job as a manager. After cleaning out my office, I began clearing my computer. I received an email from HR announcing a job position that opened up. Too bad it was for my job. FML
Today, I was dismissed from my job at an unemployment agency. In order to receive financial support from the government I need to be cooperating with a job service provider. They paired me up with the same place I was just fired from. FML
Today, after quitting my job to take a very attractive position with a competitor, I was told the position was no longer being offered. I'm now on my way to file for unemployment. FML
Today, after nearly eight months of unemployment, I started a great new job. After seven and a half hours of work, my new boss comes up to tell me what a great job I was doing, but that he somehow forgot to clear the new hire with the company owner, so I'm fired. Hello, unemployment... again. FML
Today, I got a call from an ad agency offering me a job. I was so excited, because I've been looking for work for a few months now and really wanted to work for them. An hour later, they called apologizing, because they'd made a mistake and offered the job to the wrong person. FML
Today, after months of tests, I was the only candidate left for my dream job. Then, only a few days before the last meeting before signing the contract, I get a call from HR informing me their co-worker unexpectedly came back from unpaid leave and that they are obliged to give him the job. FML
Today, my boss found out I had applied for a much better paying job. He told me I'd do a better job and make more money there. Then he fired me. FML
Today, I got a better job offer out of the blue, more pay, less work. I informally accepted and handed my notice as legally required. They rescinded the job offer. I'm now unemployed at the end of hiring season. FML

That sucks. Can you tell someone at the unemployment office and just explain the situation for them? Otherwise, just go to the job interview. So what. They won't hire you anyway since you were fired and you jump through a hoop or two and then you can have all the free money you want.

how do you get unemployment if you have been fired???? my friend has been unemployed for months since he got fired and they wouldn't accept unemployment because he had been fired not laid off

you can still file even if you got fired. it happen to me awhile back and I was approved. the referral you got I would ignore, they won't follow up on it, just keep job searching --between jobs

What do you think unemployment is? If you are unemployment long enough to be required to apply for a job or lose benefits you have sucked at the federal teat too long, and are a bum. Even in this economy it is not that hard to get a job.

and this is a FML whyyyy?! like umm....are you retarded?! its the same job you just had (so you already know what to do and can do it better this time so you DONT get fired) and you make more money then you did before. i dont see the problem there...all i see is a lazy ass who just wants free money from their friends and all other tax payers
