Today, I realized just how bad my problem with making eye contact is, when I caught myself looking the other way when the singer in a music video looked directly at the camera. FML

Today, I realized how truly insecure I really am when the guy in the show I was watching looked straight into the camera and I immediately looked away. FML
Today, I realized just how shy and awkward I really am when I averted my eyes to avoid making eye contact with someone who turned out to be a cardboard cut-out. FML
Today, I failed an oral speech because "I didn't look up once." The problem was, every time I looked up, my teacher looked down. Every time I looked down, she looked up. FML
Today, on the bus, I caught the eye of this ugly, sweaty girl giving me a death stare through the driver's mirror. I gave her a death stare back. Only then I realized I was staring at myself. FML
Today, I was at a concert and I thought the cute drummer was winking at me, so I winked back. Then I realized he was blinking sweat out his eyes. FML
Today, as always, I have autism and it is physically painful for me to make eye contact. I read that you can solve this by looking at the person’s ears or nose. Except my mom can somehow tell when I’m doing this, and she yells and screams at me for not looking her in the eye. FML
Today, there's a guy in my class who I'm very attracted to. I'm hyperconscious of him for that, and I worry about the impression I give. By now though, there have been at least two different eye contact occasions that made it look like I was staring at him when I was NOT, and now I must look like a creepy stalker. FML
Today, at a concert, I tried to film my favorite song for Instagram. I sang along dramatically, screamed the chorus, and danced like no one was watching. When I rewatched the video later, I realized I had my phone camera flipped, recording my sweaty, overexcited face the entire time. FML
Today, I'm a shy guy normally, and when I talk to my friends I don't keep eye contact so I always look down even when I'm listening. My friend asked me why I always look at her boobs. FML
Today, I went to see one of my favorite bands. When they started playing my favorite song I whipped out my video camera and sang along. As I was reviewing the video later, I realized that I couldn't even hear the band over my horrible singing. FML

YouTube is the only site where music videos are available. I mean, why would they show a MUSIC VIDEO on television. The television obviously isn't for viewing things, only YouTube is. YouTube is the only source of music videos that ever or ever will exist. So we can all safely make the assumption that OP watched this on YouTube. MTV doesn't exist. I think they sort of "gave-up" on music a few years back, but I think they occasionally show something or the other. Now it's basically only a trashy show in the shadow of its former glory.

69 - I've got a great solution for you. Watch the parody of that song (the one featuring Tobuscus) and you'll laugh your head off so much you'll forget how ear-splitting and horrifying the actual song is. Hope this helps! :D

Eye contact is really unnerving to make and really creepy to receive. Never understood what people liked so much about it. Screw these nonsensical "social conventions" and do what's comfortable. (downvote city here I come)

I dont like it either. I have a good excuse to look away though, I'm 150cm tall and everyone else is much taller. I either get a face of balls, belly button, boobs or shoulder. It hurts my neck to look them in the eye. Also I look past them to distract myself from it. And yes a face of boobs is bad as a straight girl :P

I can actually relate. My maths teacher always glares at me and refuses to look away because she knows I have eye contact problems, meh. Life is too short to force yourself to do things that make you uncomfortable.

Eye contact is very uncomfortable for me. When I was in middle school they had to teach me things like eye contact and reading facial expressions. I still don't make eye contact; I stare at people's noses so they think I'm making eye contact. I honestly don't even know my own eye color because it makes me uncomfortable to look myself in the eye in a mirror.

I get this too actually, however it also causes me to have difficulty conversing, out of the fear of unintentionally offending someone or making them uncomfortable. OP probably has a form of a social anxiety disorder, which can be treated by a psychologist.
