Today, I picked my car up from the shop. After 5 minutes I noticed the oil and check engine light on. I pulled over, then the engine shut off completely. Turns out they forgot to put oil back in my car. I'll be needing a new engine. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I got my car back from the shop. The engine has been rebuilt twice in the past 3 months. My check engine light just came on. FML
Whoops
Today, I took my car into the shop to get a minor problem fixed. I left several hours later, without my car. Why? The mechanic crashed it while out on a test drive to make sure he'd fixed the problem. FML
Today, I bought a different car because I was having to constantly repair my old one. On the way home from the dealer, the check engine light came on. FML
Almost there
Today, my car broke down because it couldn't wait two more days for an oil change. Now it might be FUBAR. FML
Today, I picked up my car from the repair shop, drove two miles, and ran out of gas. I then walked to get gas, put a gallon of gas in the car, and tried to start it. The battery was too weak to start the car, and died on the spot. FML
Today, after getting my car completely fixed after it being damaged for a year, I was driving and the entire side panel on the car fell off. The repair man forgot to put the screws back in. FML
Wreck
Today, I paid over $500 to pick up my car from the mechanic, after it'd spent almost a month there. It broke down again on the way home. FML
Today, I picked up my car after I got it painted. As I backed up in the parking lot, my car scraped against a pillar. Now I have to put it right back in the shop. FML
That's nuts
Today, I finally got my car back after it was in the auto shop for a week. On my way home, I started swerving all over the road. It turns out they didn't tighten the lug nuts on one of my wheels properly. FML
Whoops
Today, I took a car out for a test drive to investigate a mysterious clunking noise. I heard the exact sound the customer had described, and then realized a wrench had been left on top of the engine and had slipped down and got caught near the battery. I had to come back and explain that the issue had been a skill issue. FML

It was their mistake, their damage, they'll cover the cost. Bring it up to them with proof, escalate the problem if needbe, and go to court if it gets that far (it won't, they'll fix it).

They should be willing to compensate for that, but FYL for having to wait for that process to be complete.

DID YOU KNOW THAT FAT PEOPLE ARE THE MOST DANGEROUS THINGS TO BE IN A CAR? THEY CAN POP THE TIRES OR UNEVEN THE BALANCE AND MAKE YOU CRASH

It is entirely possible this has happened to more than one person in the world - even close to the same time. Why do people act as though an event must be unique?

If you are on Yahoo Answers and this website that much, you probably need a life. Sorry but when a girl asks you what you do and you say "I scout Yahoo Answers and fmylife.com for copies so I can call FAKE!" she might not like that.

This happened to my mom (or a similar incident anyway). Shortly after she got her oil changed in her 1991 Saab, the check oil light came on. When she had it towed to the Saab place, the mechanic right away recognized it as the handiwork of a particular Jiffy Lube worker, and asked her if she had recently gotten the oil changed at a particular Jiffy Lube. Apparently this one guy at a Jiffy Lube in her town is known to have messed up several older Saabs by draining the oil, then pouring new oil in where transmission fluid goes. My mom's Saab needed a new engine AND transmission.

LOL U MAD?

#77: Ha ha! You just got screwed over by the Saab dealership. It is not possible to "accidentally put the engine oil in the transmission". You have to partially drop the tranny to change the transmission fluid. I am 100% sure the guy at the Saab dealership lied to you so they could make more money to replace a transmission.

Google "forgot to refill the engine with oil" and you will see that this happens a lot more than you might think. Also I don't know about Saabs but I have seen a number of domestic cars come in after some idiot poured motor oil in the transmission check tube to "top it off".

Dunno about them repairing the vehicle. Something similar happened to a friend and she had to pay most of the expense for repairs

YDI for not checking oil light right after starting up the engine. If the oil reservoire is empty, the light will turn on ni 1-10 seconds. Or if it doesn't american made cars have bad oil sensors, as all my cars have lighted up the light asap.
genius_man16 1
In fairness, that light isn't something that really catches your eye if you don't look at the speedometer and stuff fairly closely.

I doubt she was even driving an American car, you tool.
leiziueyes 0
Or maybe the light doesn't lit up that soon. Maybe they changed the oil but forgot to tighten the lid so it spilled. Many things could've happened. Of course it's the shop's fault, but a "check engine" light is quite eye-catching so that could be possibly be avoided. One thing that I learned with cars: No matter whose fault it is, you always get screwed up. :(

The oil light is probably the LAST thing anyone looks at after getting an oil change as they assume they are all set. That the mechanic remembered to put new oil in

nothing wrong with American cars

Now wait a second, You noticed all those lights, even knew they forgot to put oil but it says "woman" right next to your name? ......I say fake!
headboarder 0
Err... wtf? Since when is noticing that lights on the dashboard are on/realising the people hadn't put oil in been a male-only thing? Sounds like pure and utter sexism to me, but there you go

Sue them, and you'll drive a Ferrari

I'd say her laywer will drive a Ferrari, but there's not much chance of that in a simple property damage case that this is. She should get a decent car though. And I hope she gets a rental until the check clears.
