Today, I overheard a girl and a guy sitting behind me on the bus who were talking about Skyrim, one of my favourite games. After a while, I turned around and, as a fellow gamer, thanked them for restoring my faith in humanity. They went very quiet. I'm now that weird guy on the bus. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Check your head
Today, while watching a movie on my iPad, a really cute girl sat next to me. Suddenly, everyone on the bus started clapping. I started to clap very loudly as well, asking the girl why we were clapping. She gave me a strange look. I then realized the applause was coming from my headphones. FML
Awkward
Today, a girl started talking to me at the bus stop. After it descended into an awkward silence, I jumped on my bus to avoid further conversation. She got on the same bus. And got off at the same stop. I swear the whole bus could feel the tension. FML
Gamers rise up
Today, I had a rough day and just let it all out while I was gaming. A random stranger actually replied to me, genuinely concerned, and I proceeded to vent about all my problems. It was only after they left that I realized a random stranger on the Internet now cares more about my mental health than my own family. FML
Today, while riding the bus, a creepy guy gave me the "rape glare" and another guy repeated every word to the conversation I was having with my friend under his breath. FML
Today, I was riding a bus. After having a conversation with my friend, I looked down and saw a little boy looking at me. He asked, "Are you a boy or a girl?" As if that wasn't bad enough, when I responded that I was a girl, he said, "Oh. So, why do you have a boy voice then?" FML
Tetchy
Today, I greeted every passenger cheerfully getting onto my bus all morning. At one stop, I said, “Good morning!” to someone who didn’t respond, so I repeated it louder… only to realize they were wearing headphones and now passengers were staring at me like I was a pissy Karen. FML
Today, while on a crowded public bus, a cute girl asked if she could sit next to me. Problem is, I didn't hear correctly and thought she asked if anyone was sitting next to me. I answered no, causing her to walk off angrily and earning me several disgusted stares from other passengers. FML
Gamers care
Today, I was interacting with someone on a video game, and the topic somehow got switched to mental illness. When I told him about my problems, he was very sympathetic and understanding. A complete stranger cares more about me than my actual family. I'm not sure if I should be happy or crying. FML
Today, as I walked on to the bus, the girl I liked whispered something to her friend. Curious, I asked what was so funny. She said she never realized that when I got on, I shook the bus. FML
Go compaaaaaaare
Today, while I was gaming, a girl using voice chat was probably the most polite person I have ever encountered in my life. It was only after I logged off that I realized she spoke to me with more affection and respect than my own mother ever has in my entire life. FML

The world is full of corruption, evil and mindless cruelty, but y'know it's okay because I heard two people talk about my fave game on the bus. The ignorance is strong in this one...

I find it ironic that the only people I've ever heard use the phrase ”x restored my faith in humanity” seriously are the same people who pretty much ruin mine. Way to be a socially inept elitist.

Ydi for allowing a bland generic dumbed down fantasy rpg series that's been copy and pasted since morrowind to be your definition as faith in humanity rather than challenging and engaging games (dark souls or the witcher) with more depth than a spoon.

How did this get through.

So, they restored your faith in humanity by being gamers? By sitting on their butts and living a virtual life rather than getting a real one, most likely living off our tax money? Right... Okay, not all gamers are like that, but that's the stereotype these days. Anyway, you probably just shouldn't have said anything, they weren't talking to you so next time mind your own business.

I personally don't know ANY gamers that don't work. It's pretty expensive just to be one. High specs PC that has to be constantly upgraded, $50 on average per game, sound system, all the works. Most gamers I know, including myself, work our asses off. Gaming is how we reward ourselves for a job well done, especially since said job is usually soul-sucking and thankless. Most other people reward themselves by drowning in their alcoholic misery at the local pub.

Odd, most of the ones I know game on pawnshop ps3s or outdated junk and work as little as humanly possible. The ones like us that do work are usually considered softcore or casual and sell the rest our outdated hardware.

We're considered casual gamers by withdrawn middle aged men and teenagers with autism. Probably also by hipsters that stole their father's Atari. In actuality, casual gamers are the general population, that spend 10 hours at a time playing Angry Birds on the shitter.

What's Skyrim? ... & please note the blatant sarcasm mixed with sincerity!
