Today, I vented to my friend about how unhappy I am and how I want to kill myself. What did she say? "Don't do that." That was it. FML
Today, my best friend actually had the audacity to try and one-up my suicide attempt story. FML
Today, I told my mom I loved her and she asked if I was going to kill myself. FML
Today, I was feeling suicidal and needed to talk to someone about it, so I called up the only person in the world who cares about me: my mom. Or so I thought. Her immediate response was, “You should go ahead and end it.” FML
Today, I opened up to my parents about my depression. Their response was to have a very heated discussion about whose fault it was. FML
Today, my friend needed to talk out bad feelings. Then she urged me to open up as well. I hate doing it, but it only seemed fair, so I confessed my deep insecurities. Not only did she agree with everything, but she also helpfully added that I'm boring, have no life, and all my dreams are unattainable. FML
Today, my best friend said we couldn't be friends anymore because I'm too depressed or too happy all the time. After explaining for half an hour what bipolar depression was and how I have it he just said, "Bullshit!" FML
Today, I was texting my friend. He has a history of depression, which we were talking about, and somehow, he turned the conversation to, "If we ever broke up, I would kill myself." I didn't even know we were even going out. FML
Today, I tried to tell my dad that I was really struggling with my mental health and didn't think I could stay alive much longer. He laughed. This comes after telling my "best friend" last week and having to wait three days for a reply. FML
Today, I was diagnosed with depression. My girlfriend's idea of consoling me was to break up with me because she can't date a "psycho". FML

don't do it. I had someone very close to me do it. His name was Kade. He was my bf but he committed suicide. It hurt so much and I could barely hold on. Don't do it. It'll just hurt others. Your friend isn't much of a friend if that was her reaction.

that's not a real friend at all, life seems difficult at times and depression isn't something easy to cure. try talking to other people who will listen instead of suggesting the most dumbest unreal answer ever, there's hotlines, you can pm me, and others on here too. school councilors, someone close to you. but please, don't take her advice, killing yourself won't solve anything. Hope you can get througj this OP

This person is most definitely not your friend.. Believe me, I have depression too, and some of my friends just didn't understand how difficult it is. Though these kind of people don't understand, there will always be people close to you who will, and these are the people you should reach out to. Trust me, it'll make you feel a lot better in the long run.
