Today, I missed out on the chance of buying a great used car because my loan wasn't approved. Why wasn't it approved? Because the vehicle has +100k miles on it. I wish they would've told me that when I applied for the loan. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Pedestrian blues
Today, after I'd saved up for a deposit on a new car, I found out when I went to the dealership that I wasn’t eligible for a loan, due to my credit score. FML
Carless whisper
Today, my car broke down. Yesterday, my husband mentioned he found my dream car for sale, but I'd insisted my car had a lot of miles left and we should save money. They sold my dream car this morning. Now I'm carless. FML

Today, I went to look at a used car I was really looking forward to driving. It wasn't in as good condition as I'd hoped. The seller still expected me to buy it, even after he had to spray in half a can of Oklahoma Choke octane booster just to get it to fire up. FML
Scummy and scammy
Today, I've saved enough money to buy a new car, but the dealers wouldn't sell any to me unless I agreed to finance, which is not what I wanted to do because I had enough to flat-out buy. After a screaming argument, I left empty-handed. FML
Beater
Today, I bought a used car from a private dealer my parents had recommended. On my way home they called to tell me that their car broke down. They bought it last week from the same guy. FML
Sounds like a scam
Today, I bought a car. Made a down payment and everything. Have the papers saying it’s mine, only to find out a few hours later it was sold right before I bought it. FML
Duped
Today, I found out that the man who sold me my car 6 months ago lied about it being "recently serviced" and "in excellent condition". It actually hasn't been serviced in years, and fixing all its problems is going to cost me $900 more than what I paid for the car. FML
Today, I found out that my Mom had taken out a loan out on my car from the repo man taking my car away. FML
Today, I got locked out of my car for an hour in frigid weather at a busy gas station. Every time I tried to use the key, the alarm went off and the locks wouldn't work. The car company claims they've never heard of this happening. I just bought it last week after taking out a 5 year loan. FML
Repo Man
Today, I rented a car via an app for a family function. Turns out it was in default and was repossessed while I was there. I had to ride three hours back home with my girlfriend's dad, who probably thinks I don't pay my bills. FML

Isn’t that your job? When I’ve seen interest rates posted on used car loans, they are classified by mileage. Let the buyer be aware.

They don't know you won't qualify for that car until you apply.

100k miles is like 2/5ths the lifespan of a Toyota engine. Our old Scion XB was at 198k miles and had zero issues, even got hit in the front in an accident and ran flawlessly for the 6 more years we had it. Had to trade in because family grew, but I'd love to have it back. ;__;

ah damn. but they look at the miles when giving out loans?

Yes, mileage factors into wear & tear. Loans are granted based on the value of the car. The value of the car decreases as mileage increases.

Depends on the make and model too.

you wish who would have told you? it's up to you to ask. also didn't you drive the car? you can see the mileage right there. ydi. big time

Wait, what? Why would you NOT want to know the mileage of a used car ASAP? For multiple reasons. That doesn't make (common) sense ... (or approved loan dollars either apparently in this case).
