Today, I locked myself out of my dorm room. I walked across campus, shoe-less and in nothing but my bathrobe, to find someone who could let me back in. Turns out I hadn't even shut the door properly and so it never actually locked. I can still hear the guy laughing at me. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I woke up in the middle of the night and had to go to the bathroom in my dorm. After coming out of the bathroom, I realized I'd let my auto-locking door close behind me. I had to go through the whole dorm, sprint across campus in my bra and underwear, and ask someone for my spare key. FML
Let me in
Today, I locked myself out while taking the trash downstairs. I was wearing pajamas, slippers, and a winter coat over nothing else. My neighbor offered to help, then spent ten minutes trying not to laugh while I explained that my keys were sitting on the kitchen counter. FML
On the hook
Today, I lost my keys. My roommate locked me out, then yelled at me when I made her come home to let me in. I tore my room apart searching for them, and even went out to search my locker room. When I got home, I glanced at my wall only to find my keys hanging on the hook I set up specifically for them. FML
You ain't seen me, right?
Today, I was showering at my dorm. I had my clothes locked in a locker and my towel and robe hanging outside the stall. Someone took off with my towel and robe, which had my keys. I had to walk down three flights of stairs to get an extra key in nothing but a plastic shower curtain. FML
Locked out
Today, due to an incident with the dishwasher, a coat rack and my bathrobe, I ended up locked out of my house, naked as a jaybird. I had to hide in the backyard for several hours until my family got home from their various activities to get back in. They still haven't stopped laughing at me. FML
So brave
Today, I finally got the guts to walk out of class 30 minutes early, only to find that the back door was locked. As I stood there like an idiot trying to get it open, all 200 people in my class turned to laugh. My professor stared at me. I then walked back to my seat, sat down, and unpacked. FML
Today, I broke my key unlocking my dorm room. When I pushed the door open in frustration, the door opened with no problem. Turns out it was unlocked. FML
Today, I locked myself, drunk and naked, out of my hotel room. FML
Today, while taking a shower in the dorm bathroom, my roommate thought it would be funny to steal my towel, robe, and key. I spent over an hour waiting for someone to come into the bathroom so I could ask them to bring me something to cover up. FML
Let me out!
Today, I was locked inside my dorm room. Yeah, inside. How? Some of my floormates decided to stick pennies in the door frame, which jammed the handle. I was stuck inside my room and had to pee really bad. I couldn't call an RA to get me out either. Why? I'm the RA. FML

Why was OP in a bathrobe and shoeless outside to begin with...
JuliaaNoelle 26
#61, I'm guessing she had just gotten out of the shower or something since she lives in a dorm room.
mstoock 12
But why did she go outside like that is what she wants to know
JimmyHasNoHands 7
in many if not most dorms bathrooms are public, accessed via hallways outside of your actual room.

Happens to all of us. Don't worry ;-:

No, no it doesn't.

No, this has never happened to me. Take this "adventure" as a teaching for the future, OP.

I believe he is right. It happens to everyone who has lived in a dorm. I need a key to enter the building, key to enter my suite, and a key to enter my bedroom. if any door closes and you forgot your key, you're out of luck!

Speak for yourself.

everyone who down votes this has never been to college in this century. the keys to my dorm are like credit cards. half the time mine didnt even work.. I was locked out often. #swerve

Everyone has those days, OP. You'll look back and laugh in a few years.

how does this get up votes but the reply saying neatly the same thing gets down voted.....you people all have Alzheimer's and ADD
Trin_Tran 26
At least you weren't naked and "locked" out, OP

BUT he was shoeless. :/

I'd rather be shoeless than naked

Maybe it's just me, but I'll guess that OP is coming from a shower/bathroom and that she doesn't have one in her dorm (like suite dorms do). Am I the only one who would wear shoes to the shower, like flip flops? Maybe I'm just anal about foot germs and stuff though, so if so, I get the down votes

Stuff like that happens to me allll the time haha just laugh it off, but I completely feel your pain !

Just be glad you didn't actually lock yourself out.

I mean, he might as well have. It sounds like he only got inside after he found somebody who would open the door for him.

#6 exactly how does that make things better? Everyone has locked themselves out of either their house or car at some point. It happens. The fact that the door was actually unlocked the whole time is what makes this so embarrassing.
greeneyebeauty9 28
I'm surprised you didn't even at least check, though.

ikr. if the door could open, how did op not know? unless op didnt even try to and just assumed

Maybe she only tried turning the knob, not pushing the door, so she didn't know that it wasn't closed properly... (though that's pretty hard to do, so I'm guessing that she was just being lazy, and saw that it looked closed, and assumed it was) Whenever I lock myself out, I always push hard against the door in frustration, then attempt to break in, so I'd never have her particular problem... but that's just because I hate telling people I got locked out AGAIN, and I usually make sure to at least have a credit card on me when I leave...just in case. ;)
sunshineb81 16
That is truly FML. Don't worry though it will be forgotten quickly by everyone but you.
dimerneckel 22
That sucks. On my campus there are people in the building that can let you back into your room if you accidentally get locked out.

Well at least the guy had a good day ;)
