Today, I had to skip lunch to work on a big project, so I stopped by a vending machine. The number I wanted was 126, but I accidentally typed 124, using my last dollar. 124 was the only empty row. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, while at the vending machine, I put in my $20 instead of my $1. I got my change back in quarters. FML
Technology
Today, I used the last dollar in my PayPal Tap to pay to get myself a little something for work lunch. The register glitched just before the transaction finished, but it still took the money. No cash, no lunch. FML
Today, I had to pay my bus fare in very small change. After carefully counting out coins under the withering glares of a bus-load of people, I quickly slid them into the machine, and somehow ended up jamming it. FML
Man vs. Machine
Today, I spent way too long battling a vending machine that ate my dollar but didn’t give me my snack. After shaking it, kicking it, and practically hugging it, I finally gave up. As I walked away in defeat, it dropped the snack. I rushed back to claim my prize… and the janitor grabbed it before I could. FML
Today, I was at a mini arcade and accidentally put a hundred dollar bill through the quarter machine. FML
Today, I went to get my car fixed. There was a vending machine in the waiting room, and I was hungry. The snacks were overpriced, but I still had a little money left over. I noticed a bag of Cheetos hanging loose, so I paid for them, hoping to get two bags. They both got stuck. FML
Today, I used the last of my money to buy a bag of vending machine chips for dinner. It got stuck. A passerby saw and generously offered to buy another bag of the same chips to dislodge it. Gratefully, I accepted his offer. It stayed stuck. FML
Today, as a joke, my friend put my bus money in the vending machine. Not only did the machine not return my money, it wouldn't give me an item in return. FML
Today, I decided to be a generous guy and slip a dollar from my pocket to a beggar. Turns out I'd slipped my hard-earned $100 bill instead. FML
Today, I went and bought lunch for all the people I work with. The only meal the place forgot was mine. FML

Later that day he crashed his car costing him 124$. Afterwards, he was watching channel 124 and his cable broke. Finally, his girlfriend called at 1:24 AM and broke up with him.

Usually the vending machine says "Not In Stock" if you choose an empty row. Guess you were that unlucky. Hope you finish the big project soon and have a nice big dinner.

Your not you when you're hungry, eat a snickers... Oh wait, you can't! Looks like you will have to get through the day as someone else.

But, if it's empty, don't the vending machines usually know when a row is empty? I thought there were sensors and things so stuff like this wouldn't happen.

There are civil wars, genocides, droughts, famines, poverty happening all around the world and we're here sympathizing over people who don't get their Doritos for lunch.

Just because there are worse things happening in the world doesn't invalidate someones sucky day.

doesn't de machine detect it's out of stock on that row and tells you to choose something else?
