Today, I had one of the worst panic attacks in years. I was worried nobody cared about me and that I had completely messed up my life. I was hyperventilating and crying hysterically. My mom walked by my room, looked at me, and said, "If you're going to make those noises, at least shut the door." FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Great parenting
Today, after a year of staying at home, I finally went out. I had a panic attack and couldn't breathe, so my mum decided to scream at me and slap me so I'd become "normal". FML
Empathy lives
Today, my mom walked in on me crying in my room and yelled at me for being a "weak little crybaby." I’d just found out my best friend died in a car accident. When I told my mom that, she said, "Does it look like I fucking care?" FML
Today, I began to choke on a large pill while my mom was in the room. Hoping that she would help me, I began to make a lot of noise. After she completely ignored me, I threw my body over a chair, saving my life. At this point my mother asks me to shut up because she can't hear her friend. FML
But there's panic on the streets of Carlisle
Today, I had a panic attack because my wife yelped at me. What did I say that made her yell? I told her that I had just been diagnosed with a panic disorder that's triggered by people yelling at me. FML
Oh yeah…
Today, I was in the bathroom at work. The lock on the stall door broke, and I couldn't open it. I was all alone and I started having a mini panic attack. After several minutes of frantically trying to fix the lock and hyperventilating, I realized I could just crawl under the door. FML
Voice of an angel
Today, I was sitting at my computer, listening and singing along to some music. I started singing louder, thinking that I was pretty good. Just then, my mom comes barging through the door in a frenzy saying, "Are you all right? Are you hurt?" FML
Today, I had an extreme panic attack in the middle of class. I interrupted another person's presentation, burst into tears, and ran out of class whilst everyone looked at me. FML
Stunted growth
Today, my mother has filled me with such grief from covert narcissism that I realized I'm having panic attacks about her being able to hear me if I speak my mind, even when I'm alone. I'm in my thirties and married. FML
What is wrong with you?
Today, I noticed my daughter’s bathroom was dusty, so I screamed at her for keeping the bathroom in unacceptable condition. She had a panic attack and has been crying for the past week. She’s 24. FML
Acceptance
Today, my mom sternly told me that she would no longer make doctor's appointments for me, since I need to do them myself. I've been staring at the phone for thirty minutes, crying from anxiety. I'm 27 and the most pathetic man alive. FML

Is your mother unaware of the fact that you have panic attacks?

"Panic attacks". Or are you just sad?

I honestly can't blame your mom. You sound like an attention ***** who often acts out so that the people in your life focus on your "problems." A mom knows their kid better than anyone else, and if she ignored you like this, than that must mean that she has become desensitized to your "problems." They must be so frequent that you've become the little boy who cried wolf. You call for pity and attention so often, and surely somebody has tried to help you. But you are stubborn, you don't listen to these people. That is why you feel like "nobody cares." You can't help a person who wants to have "problems." That is the trouble with this generation, everybody thinks they are so special and that "nobody understands them." That is every teenager, no matter what year, decade, or century you are in. The reason you believe that you have completely messed your life up is because you are still living in this immature fantasy rather than focusing all this energy you seem to have on things that really matter. Stop being so self-centered. Stop seeking attention from others. Pay attention to yourself, who you really are not this illusion. Stop looking for love from others; just love yourself.

Everyone's got someone that cares about them. Hang out with your friends and people that love you. Don't stay home and beat yourself up over nothing. There's no reason that you should feel so sad when you have plenty of other good people in your life. Your mom obviously doesn't understand what you have to go through, but you know that. So don't sulk around in your room. Go out and do something fun. Feel free.

I wish I could give you a hug right now. E-HUG! I have clinical depression and I know what it's like people will judge you. For all the people who say you're being a drama queen, here's some information: Certain behaviours are caused by shortages or excesses of chemicals in the brain. Would you say I'm a drama queen because it's clinically proven my brain doesn't produce enough serotonin? If so, go **** yourself.

#83: Talk about being irrationally judgemental of someone's situation! You have no idea who this person is, their personality, their psychological history... yet you insist on stereotyping. Of course, "this generation" must be comprised solely of "attention ******" - no one really has problems like depression or anxiety any more - I'm even starting to question the existence of Schizophrenia and Borderline Personality Disorder - surely it is all now centred around a person's need to be noticed. Please. And the imperative tone of "you are" this and "you are" that; a lovely touch in terms of gaining credibility, especially considering you don't actually know this person at all. Perhaps you should think twice before being so blatantly arrogant, unnecessarily cruel and utterly ignorant.

#90 You're completely right, it is ignorant to voice an opinion when it comes solely from experience. You're right, its unnecessarily cruel to be honest to somebody who needs to hear the truth. And its incredibly arrogant to even consider posting a response to a public comment. However, I would like to point out one thing. Real people have real problems, and its disgusting for others to pretend. They're mocking those who do need our help, lowering their credibility. I am not stereotyping. But when I read this post, it was purely identical to something/somebody I've heard before. So maybe you shouldn't judge me without knowing my situation either. Wait...isn't that what you accused me of doing? Oh yeah it is. You are hypocrite and as much to blame as I.
