Today, there was a big party at my workplace. The only person that was socializing with me in any way was my co-worker's 4-year-old daughter. Before leaving, she drew smiley faces on plastic plates and napkins and gave them to me so I "will have some friends and not be all alone." FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Thanks guys
Today, it was my co-worker's birthday but she told me not to mention it. Feeling bad for her, I went out to buy her a card, a present, and even a small cake. It turns out that there was actually a party during our lunch break, and I was the only one in our office not invited. FML
Today, I had my leaving party after work to celebrate getting a new job. 3 people turned up. I'd invited 35. FML
Today, I went to a friend's sweet sixteen. Since I didn't know any else at the party I was really happy when the mother told me she sat me next to someone she thought I would have a lot in common with. He ended up being mentally challenged and talked to a sock puppet the whole party. FML
Classic
Today, at work, I casually mentioned I was meeting some friends for dinner. My co-worker's response was, "You have friends?!" FML
Pulled a sneaky on you
Today, I found out that my work threw me a birthday party alongside my coworker’s birthday. Said coworker spread a rumor, telling everyone that I wanted each person to buy me flowers and cake. Everyone thought that I was a weirdo for asking for those things from them. I wasn't at work today. FML
That's awkward
Today, I took my wife and our 6 year-old son to a company party. Sometimes I take my son to work with me, so he knows my coworkers. One of them walked over and introduces herself to my wife, and my son says, "Yeah, they go to into the bathroom together all the time during break!"’ Thanks, son. FML
Judgmental much?
Today, at a supermarket, I ran into a girl I knew in high school. She had two kids with her and they were buying school supplies. My cart was full of beer and snacks. After a chat, she left, not before saying, "I hope things get better for you." I have a job and a girlfriend. FML
Unforgettable
Today, I went out to lunch with two old friends from high school. While at the restaurant, we saw a girl who we graduated with. The girl gave both of them hugs, then introduced herself to me. FML
Today, I was working as a character at an amusement park. I was walking with another character and we went over to a baby girl. She smiled and laughed at my co-worker. When she saw me, she started screaming and crying. FML
Social distancing
Today, we celebrated our daughter's sixth birthday. Out of the 30 invited, 7 showed up. The last one to cancel this morning told us she was ill. My daughter was in tears as this meant the last remaining playmate couldn't come. My wife later saw her tagged on Facebook at another party. FML

It seems to me that the little 4 year old was the most mature of them all!

If only adults were a little more like kids.

I think the problem is the adults acting like children.

I'm just gonna assume that you didn't want to socialise because, all your coworkers are assholes, right?

Not necessarily. I'm always awkward at parties (especially work parties-- I'm just not good at small talk). If there is a kid (or animal) at the party, that's where I usually end up. It's more to do with my own awkwardness than any fault with anybody else. Plus, kids and animals tend to be way better and more entertaining than most adults. I'd rather sit and color than mingle.

It was a joke, it's hard to convey sarcasm through text.

Well, it could also be that OP is the asshole that nobody wants to socialize with :)

On the bright side, the daughter didn't have to be alone in that party either! :)

I'm sorry to hear about the poor experience, but that was incredibly adorable.

You scarficed your time, so the little girl wasn't lonely, it won't go unnoticed. And it was polite gesture when she had to leave, cheer up
