Today, I had an elaborate plan to ask this girl to Prom, and it was going to take a few minutes to set up. I asked my friend to distract her. He decided to distract her by asking her to Prom. She said "Yes". FML

Today, I asked a girl to prom by having 5 friends hold up signs saying "P-R-O-M-?" while I snuck up behind her. She said yes... to my friend holding the "?", who she thought was the one asking her. FML
Today, I asked a short girl to prom by making a "You must be this tall to say no" sign. She grabbed a chair, stood on it, and then said no. FML
Today, I asked my girlfriend to prom. Instead of saying yes, she broke up with me. FML
Today, after telling a friend I was contemplating asking a girl to prom, my friend took my phone, told me to have some balls, and texted the girl asking her to prom. She said no, because I asked her over text instead of in person. She refuses to believe I didn't send the text. FML
Today, I was going to ask this girl I love to homecoming. I set up a scavenger hunt, and my friend led her through it. At the end of the scavenger hunt I had a note that said, "Homecoming?" She said yes and hugged my friend. When I told her it was me who was asking, she laughed and said no. FML
Today, I rejected my crush's prom proposal because I didn't think he was being serious and wanted to prank me or something. Turns out he was serious but now he's going with another girl. FML
Today, I was going to propose to my girlfriend of 3 years. I got reservations for a romantic dinner, and at the end, fireworks would spell out my proposal. The whole thing had taken weeks to plan out and had cost me a lot of money. She proposed to me at a subway station first. FML
Today, I decided to ask my friend to the school dance, which is one where the girls ask the guys. I spent hours placing signs down his street so he would see them on his way home. As I was waiting in his driveway with balloons, I saw his car reverse and go in the opposite direction. FML
Today, at a restaurant, I happily watched as my boyfriend of three years got down on his knees and proposed to me. Before I could say yes and hug him, a girl flung herself at him, kissed him and shouted, "Yes!" With us still highly confused, she then ran away. FML
Today, I asked a girl what time she'd like me to pick her up for our date tonight. She didn't know what I was talking about. It seems like, after months of sweaty palms, nervous smiles, and awkward sentences, I only dreamed she said yes to going out. FML

Want to get even? Make sure you take the girl aside, ALONE THIS TIME, and tell her, 'Hey I heard you're going to the prom with Douchebag, but I just wanted you to know how much I liked you. I was going to do X, Y and Z. I know you're already committed, I'm just telling you because I wanted it to be special because you are special...and I wanted you to know how I felt.' No guilt trip, nothing, just all about her, and you just wanted her to know. Then you make sure that one of her friends *knows* the story about how your friend ****** you over. If you don't know her friends, tell someone with a really big ******* mouth who will get righteously angry and be sure to tell the girl. THEN...you talk with the girl again and say, 'Hey...listen, I never meant for that to get out. Soandso found out about it (hell even fake talk on your phone within hearing of her friends! get it out that way) and, I didn't want you to know because I didn't want your prom to be anything less than the perfectly special day it should be for you. Because that's what you deserve. I can't justify what douchebag did, and I could never do that to a friend, but when I look in your eyes...I know why he took that chance. Betcha $10 you'll have that prom date. ;)

ok... for all you people saying "maybe the friend didn't know?" Don't you think he would only have a best friend be the one distracting the girl? If it was me, i wouldnt just have some random friend do it. If it was his best friend i'm pretty sure he would have known the guy's plan about asking the girl and therefore knew why he had to distract her. And even if it wasn't a best friend, don't you think the friend would have at least asked why he was supposed to be distracting her? and even if he didnt ask why, if he had any brain at all he would have at least realized that something was up between the guy and they girl if he wanted her to be distracted for a little bit.
