Today, I got a citation from my landlord because my puppy couldn't make it to the grass and peed in the shrubs. Later in the evening, I got a citation that my music was too loud. Until I'd submitted my 30-day notice yesterday, no one ever had a problem with me FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Asshats everywhere
Today, I've suffered 3 months of my neighbor blasting his music so loud, it shakes my apartment floor. None of my noise complaints are ever followed up, but the moment I give him a piece of my mind, he calls the cops, and they threaten me with jail time over a few curse words. FML
Neighbours from hell
Today, despite not having noisy kids, barking dogs or do I play loud music, yet apparently I still cause enough noise by walking around and watching TV that the neighbours called the cops with a noise complaint. The cops actually came. Since when is living quietly in my own home a police matter? FML
Fake it til you make it
Today, to make my dorm neighbours think I'm popular, I blasted music and screamed at the top of my lungs so it sounded like I was having a party. My residence manager slapped me with a noise violation, and demanded to come in to make sure we weren't drinking. I had to explain why I was by myself. FML
Today, I got several noise complaints from various neighbours about my "dog that won't stop barking". I don't own a dog, my neighbour owns the noisy dog. She sent me a complaint as well. FML
Today, I came home to a noise complaint letter taped to my apartment door. I haven't been home in over a month. FML
Today, my landlord came to my apartment because of complaints from my neighbors, saying that animals are not allowed inside. Turns out my roommate makes cat-noises when she's bored. My landlord still doesn't believe me. FML
How the other half lives
Today, I got a noise complaint about "loud stomping" in my apartment disturbing the tenant below. I guess I'm supposed to tell my sweet children that they are no longer allowed to play in their own home. FML
Today, I got home from work to find an eviction notice taped to my door, stating that I was a nuisance and had 30 days to vacate the property. I live at home with my parents. FML
Sax appeal
Today, I left my window open while practicing the saxophone. My drunk neighbours showed their appreciation for the music with a well-aimed firecracker that set my mattress on fire. My landlord has threatened to evict me as she thinks I set it off. FML
Today, my elderly neighbor called the police because my cat was in her yard. I now have a citation and a court date. Apparently, there is a leash law for cats in my town, and it is taken very seriously. FML

Since OP submitted a 30 day notice to move, I figured that would be a given.

He wants the money. He's going to pull every shady trick he can to get it.

Yea OP, just do your best to do absolutely nothing until you're out. Or maybe take note in some way of what you're doing so there is proof if it is needed.

Is your landlord stalking you? How does he know your puppy peed in the shrubs?!

give him a reason to cite you, play Justin Bieber music on blast at 3 in the morning

What's he gonna do, kick you out? I don't know Ohio law, but in California, the only way a landlord can keep your deposit is if he has documented physical damage to the property beyond normal wear and tear. Noise complaints, pets urinating outside, or any other petty complaint is not a valid reason to keep a deposit.

I think OP means he's trying to keep the deposit via excessive fines that'll add up to the deposit amountamount

The argument is that in many places landlords can't issue citations. A landlord in Ohio (the place in the story) must justify the "citations" in court, or face severe punishment in court.

Good luck getting your deposit back!
