Today, I gave my husband an expensive watch. The first words out of his mouth were, "You didn't use our joint bank account for this, right?" He then asked if I still had the receipt. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Rich people problems
Today, I got a gift from my wife. It was a beautiful watch. The same exact watch I'd sold to our local jewelers for 6k. She bought it for 10k. When I told her, she said, "Hmmm, I thought it looked familiar." There goes 4K from our joint account. I could’ve thought of 4000 ways to spend that money. FML
Be grateful, you nitwit
Today, I got my husband a really expensive Bulova watch. He asked for brown. I got him a brown and gold leather watch. He said it looked to much like the cheap $10 watch in his collection and asked if I could exchange it. I can’t - no refunds. Now we are fighting because he can’t express his feelings. FML
Findom
Today, my husband got paid. I checked our bank account and was shocked to see we'd only received $300. I called him, insisting that there was some mistake. He said he'd started a new bank account in his name so he could manage our money on his own, and the $300 was my "allowance". I now want a divorce. FML
Today, my boyfriend asked me to pick up a few things from the store for him while he was at work. After picking up everything he asked for, I wasn't left with much money so I used $50 from my account. When he got home he then grumbled about me spending all of "his" money. FML
Checks and balances
Today, I found out my husband has racked up $3000 on our credit cards, and ruined my credit score. When confronted, all he had to say was, "Well you didn't tell me when you bought that ten-dollar t-shirt, so I guess we're even." FML
Today, my husband of 3 weeks told me he doesn't want to be married anymore because I suggested getting a joint bank account. FML
Return to sender
Today, my watch broke so I casually mentioned to my dad that I needed a new one. A little while later he hands me this really nice watch. He says, "Here, this one's been lying around for a while." It was the watch I gave him for Father's Day. FML
Skint
Today, my husband took me out for my birthday dinner. When it was time to pay, he took out a stack of gift cards. I asked where he got them, and he said he got them as a bundle at Costco, and saved sixty bucks on the meal. He then got annoyed with me when I told him it made me not want birthday sex. FML
Who? Where?
Today, my husband bought me a beautiful pair of earrings for my birthday, to match the necklace he'd spent months searching for online the previous year. What necklace? He gave me a watch he found at Walmart last year. I wonder who the lucky girl with the necklace is. FML
Help yourself
Today, my boyfriend took me to a very elegant and expensive restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. When it came to the check, I volunteered to pitch in half, which he rejected by saying, "I got it". Little did I know was that "I got it" was short for "I got your credit card." FML

Sounds to me like you don't know your husband very well. You deserve it for not only being completely oblivious as to your husband's preference when it comes to spending money, but also for thinking that spending however much money amounts to "an expensive watch" was a good idea in the first place.

You'd think appreciation would be his first thought..

5, I don't understand you're point. The moron spent a bunch of money on the watch to begin with.. I'd say she's the one who thinks that spending a lot of money proves something. If they are struggling or even remotely right and she's out spending big money on a gift for her husband, then she's a moron. I would have to assume that, in this day and age, they probably are struggling.

Time to take The 5 Love Languages test. Sounds like you show love through gifts while he prefers to receive love another way.

He's ungrateful that she bought him a gift with his own money? If I took $100 from you and then bought you a gift with it, should you be grateful?

Hey, times are rough with gas sky high, the economy to shit, and although I'm black, presidents don't give a damn. They just wanna be in the White House.

What the **** does this have to do with the FML?

Um...the government just gives incentives, but businesses can act independently if they want. The question is, why aren't the businesses working together to rebuild the economy? They have the power to hire people. A lot of companies are revenue positive but wont hire. The gov't/pres can only do so much about that. People/businesses with money are just hoarding money for whatever reason.

She never admitted to using money from the joint bank account.

paying with joint account means he has paid a part. I wouldn't want to put MY money on an expensive watch cause someone wanted to pay the other part as a gift

Even if I was rich, I would still be pissed if my significant other bought me something unnecessarily expensive that I didn't even want. Specially because if we are in such a relationship, I'd expect them to know that I would be pissed if they did. It's the kind of thing you learn way before marriage if you're paying any attention at all to the other person. YDI for not knowing anything about the man you married.
