Today, I found out why my parents have been trying to convince me not to go to college this year. I also found out where the $20,000 they just spent on landscaping came from. My college fund. Which is now $0. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Poof, gone!
Today, I found out that my parents used all of the college money I have been saving up for 8 years to buy a beach house. The reason they waited until now to tell me? A tree fell on it, and they need more money for repairs. FML
Today, I found out that my parents are 28,000 dollars in debt and that my bank account has $27.17 in it. They took my money to help pay their debt. FML
Thievery
Today, I checked my bank account that I've been saving money in since I was a kid for college. I have $100 left out of the $10,000 I had last month. Apparently my parents thought buying a pool and an HDTV for themselves was more important than my college education. FML
Today, I discovered my parents have spent my college fund because "2012 will happen" before I graduate. FML
Is that even legal?
Today, I discovered that my mom got my college fund in the divorce. I will never see that money again and now I can’t afford a four year school. FML
Today, I found out that I owe my college a little over $10,000. Why? Because, due to a slight misspelling of my name, the scholarship that I have been going insane trying to meet the requirements for is not actually giving me any funding. FML
Today, after months of living on five dollars a day for food in college, I found out my parents bought me an expensive meal plan and forgot to mention it. FML
Coincidence?
Today, I learned that the new granite countertop in my parents' house cost $12,000. Coincidentally, this is also the amount of money I would have needed to go to the college of my dreams instead of the cheaper school I currently attend. FML
Today, I found out my mom took around $2,500 from my savings account to pay off my sister's college tuition. She recently flunked out of her studies and won't be returning to college anyway. FML
Today, I discovered that when my parents offered to help me pay for college, what they really meant is they would get the forms for me to apply for student loans. FML

IT IS YOUR PARENTS MONEY NOT YOURS. take some responsibility and pay for it yourself.

$20,000 wouldn't get you into any decent school, anyways. You might as well get a job and go to a community college.

Obviouse answer to this situation; Go into landscaping and pay your own way through college. That'll show those lousy parents!!!

I seen to many "college fund" FMLs. They were never funny to begin with, so they shouldn't be allowed on the site anymore.

who the **** only has 20k in their college fund if their parents have a big enough place to do 20k worth of landscaping?

You'll just have to figure out how to pay for it yourself. That was pretty shitty of your parents though--they should have at least discussed it with you. When they're old and gray and want you to pay for their nursing home, tell them you can't afford it because you spent all your money on landscaping your back yard. They can take care of their own damn selves!

get back at them by living in their house until your 45 and bringing all your slutty girlfriends home with you
