Today, I found out the reason I've been itchy for the last two weeks is because I'm now allergic to chlorine. I'm also a swimming instructor. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
This is actual irony, Alanis
Today, I'm starting to have a chlorine sensitivity. I'm a swimming teacher. FML
Red alert
Today, I was going to bleach my bikini line, as I have not been able to shave there due to some ingrown hairs, and I also have to lifeguard every day. As it turns out, I'm allergic to the bleach. There is now an angry red, burning rash on my crotch that you can see around my swimsuit. FML
Today, I discovered that I have developed an allergy to salt water on my face. Now, every time I sweat or cry, I come up in a bright red rash. I am allergic to my own bodily fluids. FML
Today, I had to go take swimming lessons because my mom has a fear I'll drown and I'm totally afraid of swimming anyway and never get anywhere near water. My instructor? A high school classmate of mine. My fellow swimming classmates? 5 and 6 year old kids. FML
Today, I found out that I am allergic to one of the preservatives that they put in aloe. I found this out after I put some on a severe sunburn I have. Not only am I sunburned, but now I am severely itchy as well. FML
Make it stop
Today, I found out I'm allergic to something in the city water. I've had itchy patches and rashes all over my body, but I can't afford to pay for the filtration system that would solve it. My landlord forbids any modifications to the shower and washing machine. FML
Today, I had an allergy test. Not only was I allergic to 35 out of the 40 items, they also found out that I'm allergic to the latex gloves my doctor happened to be wearing. Now my entire back is covered in a rash that will last at least another week. FML
Today, I went to the gym to run. I ended up at the hospital because i went into anaphylactic shock. Apparently I'm allergic to exercise now. FML
Today, I had to be rushed to the hospital when I started sneezing uncontrollably and got a huge rash. It turns out I'm highly allergic to a chemical in most cleaning supplies. Great. I just got a job as a house cleaner for a very rich family. FML
Today, I discovered that I have developed a latex allergy. I'm a third year medical student. FML

That completely sucks. Time for a career change.

Allergies are not always present from birth or childhood. They can develop from the environment in adulthood.

If you're a swimming instructor that hasn't been in the water enough to find that out before hand, I totally wouldn't want u teaching my kids anyway!

I'm very confused as to why you JUST figured this out. Still FYL, I guess.

this fml sounds fake, apart from the fact that it's not that exciting. it's just stupid.

She could have relasied it like me. When you are getting training you are not in the pool that often. Once you start a job you can end up being in the water from Mon - Fri and hours like 4pm - 9pm and then getting a reaction. Happened to me

How can you be a swimming instructor and just find out you're allergic to chlorine? You would have had to spend quite some time in that chlorine before now. Just doesn't make sense.

You guys know you can become allergic to something, right? Especially if you're exposed to it constantly.

dude, my dad has the same problem. try taking a shower immediately after getting out of the water. it helps him.

One would think you already knew about this alergy. If it's really because of chlorine it would happen every time you shower or bathe.
