Today, I found an old friend of mine on Facebook. After adding her, I suggested friends for her. She ended up adding every single one I added, but not me. I later saw her ask one of those friends who the hell I was and how I knew all of them. We used to eat lunch together everyday. FML

Today, I sent a Facebook friend request to my ex. This afternoon I notice that they had accepted, and had left a message for me in my inbox. Asking how they knew me. FML
Today, I received a friend request on Facebook from a girl I've had a crush on for a while. As I was about to accept it, it vanished. She explained later that she clicked on my name by accident, and didn't actually want to be friends at all. FML
Today, my friend accidentally left her Facebook logged onto my computer after she left my house. I looked on her Facebook and found a very long message between her and my other friends talking about how much they hate me. FML
Today, I went out to lunch with two old friends from high school. While at the restaurant, we saw a girl who we graduated with. The girl gave both of them hugs, then introduced herself to me. FML
Today, I went to the store and ran into an old friend that I hadn't seen in years. We chatted a little, and just as I was leaving he grabbed his mobile phone. Later, I added him on Facebook. Turns out the last thing he posted was a picture of my back saying: "Look who got even fatter." FML
Today, an old friend that I never really liked invited me to lunch while she was in town. While driving back to her car, I couldn't find my phone, so she offered to call it. She found it under the passenger seat and also saw that when she called, her name came up as "Sabrina-IGNORE". FML
Today, I made a new friend at my college campus, which was great, until I added him on Facebook and he started liking posts from 3 years ago, asking if he could be my "dirty little secret" because he knows that I have a boyfriend. FML
Today, my best friend invited my ex to eat lunch with her. I wouldn't have found out had I not bumped into them while they were there. FML
Today, my friends-with-benefits asked me if the girl who just added me on Facebook and Instagram is someone new I’m talking to, all within hours of this new friend adding me on social media. FML
Today, I received a friend request on Facebook. I didn't know her, but she was cute, so I accepted the request. After looking at her pictures, I sent her a message saying "What's up cutie, do I know you?". She responded "Yes, I'm your cousin". FML

How does that... not make sense? Unless you don't have a facebook? If not: you friend request someone, and at that time you can suggest people that they may know and send a "people you may know" request thing (something like that) to both people. So the friend added all of the people the OP suggested, but not the OP.

now, see. when you add someone, you can type in a private message. *hi so-and-so! remember me, we used to hang together in school! what you been up to? hows life* opens the door and stops the awkwardness of not being remembered. not that i would know. usually i am the person saying to others...um, who was this person we apparently sat with for 5 years.....If your name has changed, you have put on/lost a drastic amount of weight or drastically changed your appearence in other ways, its completely possible she just doesnt equate you now, to person you were. though, she could have had some tact, and did what i have done and send a private message straight to the requester "sorry, its been a few years. you look familiar, and your name feels familiar, but Im not sure i know you....". people are either very accomodating, or get offended. you can't please everyone. just move on. so she doesnt remember you. just because you sat together at lunch doesnt mean you knew her, or she thought of you as a friend. sorry, but true.
