Today, I had a violent coughing fit while at the store, which caused a lady to think I was choking, grab me from behind and start doing the Heimlich maneuver incorrectly. She broke two of my ribs. FML

Today, at work, I had an accident and cracked a rib. I got taken to hospital where I got checked over. The doctor said it was a good job I hadn't got a chest infection nor a cold. Funny you should say that doc, I have both. She replied, "Well, that's bad…" FML

If your bones are that brittle, this may be a sign of something else. You need to see a doctor ASAP and not just for the broken rib.

my ribs pop or "crack" at least a dozen times a day, especially with a good cough. ribs are connected to your sternum by tiny joints that pop just like your knuckles.

It's not funny.. The only reason I'm here reading fml is because my rib is disconnected now and I can't lay down with out severe pain.. Plus I'm coughing like a fool. Plus I'm in a foreign country. Plus I'm alone. Im wondering if it is from me coughing so much that it broke..
