Today, I couldn't sleep due to an awful head cold, so I stayed home from work. Apparently, the local high school marching band practices in the park across the street at 9am. They're doing the Imperial March music from Star Wars. They suck. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, I had a nasty headache so I tried to take a nap. Unfortunately, my college had a homecoming parade a block away from where I live. I never knew our marching band sounded that awful. FML
Today, I woke up with a skull-splitting headache. I braved the wind and freezing temperatures to get to work. Today is also the day my boss thought it would be cute to let the elementary school band play at our office. FML
Today, I forgot my headphones at home. When I got to work I found out that today was also the day the band next door had decided to practice their only song for 8 hours. FML
Police Academy 26
Today, during one of my final exams at university, the police academy across from the class decided to practice their marching. With the full band of bagpipes. For the entire 3 hours. I have a headache verging on migraine and start humming the marching beat occasionally. FML
Today, I have a cold, and was stuck sleeping in bed. My roommate decided to wake me up by sticking headphones in my ears and playing heavy metal on full volume. This is the third time this week. FML
Today, the Star Wars Cantina song had been stuck in my head since I woke up, as my brother was humming it. I finally managed to get it out of my head. Then my mom started to whistle it. It's stuck in my head again. FML
Today, and all day, I was forced to listen to one of the kids in my apartment building play their recorder loudly and horribly. She started over whenever she missed a note. I was sick, was getting a migraine from it, and couldn't ask her to stop without her mom yelling at me. FML
Today, I came to work with a huge hangover after a night out. I work as a marching band director, and guess who I had to conduct a sectional with? That's right, percussion. My head still hasn't stopped throbbing. FML
Today, I sleep during the day because I work nights. My neighbors have a very loud wedding and reception in their backyard including a live mariachi band. FML
That Monday morning feeling
Today, I couldn't sleep because a group of drunken guys decided to stay out all night singing Disney songs. They had loudspeakers too. FML

DayQuil and some calming music should do the trick!

NyQuil will help you sleep, and specifically, type in "most relaxing song in the world" on YouTube or whatever you use. That shit knocks me out cold before I know what hit me!

I'd be more concerned about the Emperor... Rebels don't throw force lightning from their hands :p

Must've been a band of troopers. Can't hit targets, & I guess they can't hit notes either.

I feel you OP, that sucks! I'd take out my noise cancelling headphones and listen to some smooth mellow music. Get well soon!

I was in the high school marching band, and ours practiced at our own field (in the middle of a residential area) starting at 7:30 AM. I suddenly feel really bad for the people who live that area.

dang! when I was in marching band we waited til 1pm to have practices, and had the occasional evening practice! our theme was Pirates of the Caribbean :)

We practiced every single morning Monday-Friday from 7:30 until 8:50...band was our first period class. The outside practices would go from the first day of school until early November, so it was really cold in the mornings toward the end. We also had 3 hour practices every Tuesday and Thursday evening from June until November, and two weeks of band camp in early August. On Fridays, we had football games to attend, and on Saturdays we competed. If the competition was close by, we'd meet up and practice for a few hours before we made the bus trip. It might be masochistic, but I still miss that every day, and it's been 7 years since high school.

I live right by a school with a morning practice marching band and it's not too bad. Theyre actually good at playing, though. Some mornings its fun to go outside with some coffee and listen in, it feels like being part of the band without actually being able to play an instrument. :)

Yeah I'm in the marching band currently and knowing some of the music that we do, that really must suck. I've had a headache at practice at 7:30am and let me just say, it is HORRIBLE!!
