Today, I found out why the temps were not invited to the company Christmas party. The company paid for the regular employees to go to a nice restaurant, gave them nice presents, and handed out substantial bonuses. They keep telling me they can't hire me on because the company can't afford it. FML
Today, I was let go from my internship for "not putting in enough effort". I was working 50 hours a week for almost zero pay. FML
Today, my bosses were boasting about their work-funded retreat, including the $1,800 bottle of wine the company paid for. This would be fine if they hadn't just told me there are no funds to pay me for the work they've got me doing. We are also the biggest company in our industry. FML
Today, as usual, I got to my internship early, did everything my bosses asked. At the end of the day, I was fired after 3 weeks of working unpaid overtime because they found an applicant with more experience for the job I applied to and they wanted to cut costs. FML
Today, my boss told me they were letting me go because they "could no longer afford to pay me." Never mind the catered lunch they had the day before, which cost more than a week's worth of my salary. FML
Today, I found out that, because I'm a student, the employees I train make more than me. FML
Today, I found out that the new receptionist earns more than I do. I'm an undergraduate accountant and I've been working there for 2 years. Oh and I started out as the receptionist before I got a "promotion". FML
Today, I found out that one of my coworkers, who has been with the company for less than a week, is getting a $7k pay rise. I've been with the company for 8 months and still on minimum wage. FML
Today, I got a lot of tips at work, but little did I know our boss takes it out of our paychecks. FML
Today, I found out that my university had not accepted the internship I did when I was in college. They placed me in the same bank I interned in, with the same bank manager that I flipped the middle finger at after finishing my internship. FML

Hors d'oeuvre is a stupid way of saying "snacks". People just took the French word (not saying French is stupid, I'm just saying that it's ridiculous for English to steal a complicated word like that without translating it to 'hordurve' first) and decided to use it to sound fancier.

Internships are important. They help busineses with petty work that needs to be completed so that employees can get the "real" work done to keep a company in business.

Internships are slave labour. If a company has 'petty' work that needs doing, they should hire someone to do it properly. These are actual people with actual lives. Paying people to do work is a fundamental cost of business.

#67 is completely right. no one believes pretty much anything posted on there because of the fact ANYONE can give any word any definition they want/ feel like. Google is more reliable than urban dictionary and who knows what'll pop up on there sometimes
