Today, I went to my parents' house. I recently lost about 30 lbs. My mom hugged me and said, "Aww, you're not my chubby baby girl anymore." She then said she wished I were still fat because she missed it. She's the reason I lost the weight; she used to tease and taunt me. Thanks Mom. FML
Today, I found myself crying in the bathroom because I started to feel lonely and depressed. My mother came into the bathroom, hearing me cry and gave me an hour long speech about what a beautiful human being I am… And to not forget to lose weight. FML
Today, whilst trying on wedding dresses with my mom, she told me that I looked fat and awful in the dress I liked. When I told her how hurtful she was being, she told me that I should be grateful that she told me what she thought instead of laughing at me behind my back. FML
Today, my friend was complaining about how fat she was. To make her feel better I said, "Psh, you're not fat! In fact we're about the same weight!" She looked at me for a second, then burst into tears sobbing, "I'm fat! I'm fat!" FML
Today, after being bodyshamed by my mother for being too fat (I'm a size 14) and how I shouldn't be wearing shorts because it makes me look ugly and motivates people to comment on my body, I texted my boyfriend to tell him about it. His reply was, "Aww. you cutie. You know she's not wrong." FML
Today, my mom told me that she heard me and my best friend in my room grunting and talking about how hard we were. She said she loved me and accepted me no matter what. Thanks mom, but we were working out. FML
Today, my mother looked me dead in the face and said, "I have failed as a parent." FML
Today, feeling very self-conscious about my looks, I told my mom I felt ugly and wished I could be as beautiful as her. She only said, "Yeah, I'm pretty, I wonder what happened to you." FML
Today, my 6-year-old daughter walked into the bathroom where I was grumbling about my weight. Seeing how upset I was, she took my hand and said, "Mom, you're not fat. You just look fat." FML
Today, I told my mom that I'm bulimic and have been for a few years, and that I needed help. She responded by saying, "Well that's clearly not working for you. Why don't you try anorexia?" She then patted me on the head, smiled, and walked away. FML

You can definitely change. It's called exercise and an attitude adjustment. But in all honesty, your mom should have comforted you, not put you down.

98, I know most fat people just don't want to change their gross and unhealthy lifestyle from personal experience. I used to be fat, edging on obese, and was in the mindset that "oh my body can't change, this is just how I am" and "fat is beautiful" ect ect. But then I went on a work service trip and lost many pounds because of the hard labor and lack of unhealthy food. Now I work out everyday and have a six pack, never been happier. I am sure there is a tiny fragment of a fragment of a portion of the population who truly can't help being fat, but I ask you, where are all the "fat because that's the way their bodies work" people in Nigeria and Somalia?

Depends on the diet. I was 13 stone in April and am now 11 and a half. I have gone from being very overweight to a very healthy weight. My brother was 14 and a half, still dieting and has lost almost a stone and a half so far. Dieting works and I went on one because I was sick of my friends and family uncomfortably pretending I wasn't fat. In short, go on a diet and stop complaining.
