Today, I'm spending New Year's Eve absolutely alone. My girlfriend canceled our plans the day before so she could spend it with strangers and booze. Somehow, I still love her. FML

Today, I celebrated the new year. Alone. FML
Today, I am passing New Year's Eve alone with my cat because everybody around me decided to celebrate in close committee, had a family emergency, or caught the C plague. FML
Today, it was the first New Year's without my longtime girlfriend. I've never felt so sad before. I hate my life. FML
Today, during the countdown to midnight, I looked for my girlfriend so I could kiss her as 2013 began. I found her just in time to see her making out with some guy she swore was "only a friend." FML
Today, it's New Year's Eve. I'd made plans to spend time with my fiancé's family the past week, then my fiancé and I were supposed to drive to my parents place today to celebrate NYE. Unfortunately, this week has been full of sickness. I spent all yesterday bedridden, and now my fiancé is too sick to get out of bed. FML
Today, I hosted a New Year’s Eve party, but everyone left at 11:45 PM to go to another party because "it sounded more fun." I rang in the new year alone. FML
Today, after spending Christmas alone because my bus home got cancelled due to Covid, I found that I have to spend the New Year alone and potentially homeless because my flight home got cancelled. FML
Today, I went to a New Year's party with my boyfriend. Later into the night, he got drunk, and left me there to go to another party with his friends. I have no car, and no way to get home. FML
Today, my New Year’s Eve consisted of four things: being home alone, drinking cheap alcohol out of a tooth mug, getting an upset stomach from that, then going to bed early with ear plugs. FML
Today, I swapped a shift so I didn't have to work on New Year's Eve. An hour later, I realized I didn't have anyone to spend it with. I swapped it back. I'll be ringing in the New Year with my boss. FML

I put my boyfriend through a Hell like that.. Did things of that nature, and he still loves me. Fortunately *I* grew up, and appreciate and love him dearly. I don't think it's you that needs to 'grow up', but *her*. Good luck.

I feel your pain my girlfriend told me that when we go to college she wants to go to parties and drink...and i know she used to drink before we started dating then she stopped and now all of a sudden she no longer wants to live with me during college which is something we both had planned to live together for college for the longest time and now a few months before college she changes her mind and wants to live on campus so she can have the college experience....

um, #21 that's the dumbest ******* thing i've ever read on here. true love isn't letting people walk all over you, that's being a sucker. trust me op/all the people saying he didn't deserve it just because you've been there too, you all do deserve it because you let it happen. my last two relationships were with hateful, asshole, abusive guys who would pull this shit all the time. and they did it because they knew i wasn't going to do anything about it. so i finally gave up on them, then two years ago met my now fiance and he is the most amazing man i could ever imagine. he's sweet, considerate, and truly loves and respects me. and as much as i thought i "loved" the other guys at the time, being with him now makes me realize that it wasn't even close to love. op if this is a one time thing, then whatever. it's not her fault if she wanted to go out and do new year's big, lots of people do. don't fault her for wanting to party one night. if this is part of a long line of this behavior however, and she constantly neglects your plans and feelings, then no matter what you feel for her you need to let her go, otherwise she'll keep doing it until she gets bored and leaves you with nothing. no one deserves to stay with someone that won't be good to them. either realize that fact, or don't complain when this stuff keeps happening, because it will, and it will be your fault for not trying to better your own situation.

**** you bitches who say man up and grow up. You don't no shit. I love my girl. Like everything. Despite her ******* me over, telling me one day how much she needs me and can't lose me and then 2 days later telling me she doesn't want to be with me... I still love her. I told her your gonna regret what your doing, cuz im the best thing thats ever happened to you. 5 days passed and she was on my bed crying her eyes out and I couldn't turn her away cuz i truly love her. We still aren't together, but we both have rules that we follow and we both acknowledge the fact that we'll be back together in a bit. thats what love is. but she's changing, a better person then when we first started going out.

That's a good come back till she does it again. She aparently cares enough about you to abandon you, then she's a REAL keeper. My ex did the same exact thing and he kept on doing it behind my back after I told him to stop it. Learn from your experiences instead of making excuses for them. You deserve better, so go get it. I did and I'm much happier with my current man.
