Today, despite having long hair and wearing makeup and a dress, I was still mistaken for a man several times. I'm a girl and I was born a girl. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, while shopping, a few giggling girls came up to me and asked why I was wearing a dress in public. Highly confused, I didn't answer. When they walked away laughing, I realized they thought I was a man. I'm a woman. FML
Today, I was mistaken for my twin brother twice. This probably wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't a girl. FML
Bad hair day
Today, I mistook a little girl for a boy. Unfortunately, I only realised my mistake until after I'd cut her hair. FML
Mistaken identity
Today, after cutting my hair and shaving, I had girls hitting on me for the first time ever! Too bad they thought I was a butch lesbian, not a man. FML
Today, I just went to the bathroom and someone thought I was a guy. FML
Today, I decided to go get my hair cut because it was getting a bit long. I told the lady that I wanted it way short and she replied "Why? You will look like a guy sweetie." I am a guy. FML
Today, after growing my hair out for over a year and constantly being told that it makes me look like a girl, I finally cut it. The first thing my friends said when they saw me was that I now look like a "lesbian." FML
Today, one of my dad's work friends came over. As he was leaving, he complimented my dad on having three "strapping young boys." I informed him that I'm a girl, and I have a hormone imbalance that causes me to have a lot of hair and a deep voice. I guess my dress didn't give him a clue. FML
Today, I was working at my job as a cashier, checking out an elderly woman's groceries. She was very nice, and we chatted for a couple minutes. Once she had paid, she leaned close to me and said, very politely, "I'm so so sorry that I mistook you for a girl at first, young man." I AM a girl. FML
Today, I was complimented by a stranger, who said I looked great in my outfit. I thanked her, and she immediately gave me a fist-bump. I stared curiously, and she explained: she was arguing with her friends about whether I'm a man or a woman. The pitch of my voice was the answer. FML

Women don’t normally have an Adam Apple and beard. It probably throws them off.

Really? I’m guessing you’re one to slow down to get a real good look at car wrecks. This is one story where I DON’T want a picture!

Normally, no. But when they do its remarkable. It's like dating Chewbacca.

You should have fun with it and everytime you're mistaken for a man, in a deep voice just say " you guys are freaks".

At least you know your the gender that’s on your birth certificate

To show one is not gender biased sexist, the proper thing to do now is to not assume a person is the gender that she or he appears to be. The only way to do that is to assume the person is the opposite gender of one’s appearance. How dare you malign these culturally sensitive people!

Are you flat-cheated, OP?

Small boobs are not a reason we would assume a girl is a guy. Dressed like a man maybe

Understood. I wasn’t meaning her any offense. I was thinking that if if she was a smaller size, then maybe some idiots would mistake her for a guy, especially since there are TGs who wear dresses. (I’ve had friends who are transgender, so again, no offense meant.)

I feel for the OP. I'm not even manly looking in the face... But get regularly mistaken if people see me from behind, simply because I'm broadly built and over 6' tall. It's crazy how many people immediately assume you're a sir based on height alone.
