Today, at the office, everyone in my department swapped secret santa presents. I bought the guy whose name I picked a DVD box-set of his favorite TV series. One of my friends got a fancy make up kit. Another got a pack of posh notebooks. I got a toilet plunger. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Same thing different taste
Today, after weeks of tirelessly organising a Secret Santa with work colleagues, we finally exchanged gifts. I got a stapler, which had been stolen from my desk the day before. FML
Today, I was at a small secret Santa with a group of friends. Everyone got each other some amazing gifts, the first person got a homemade self portrait, the second person got some professional grade playing cards, the third person got an album of past memories, and I got a pack of pens. FML
Merry Christmas, I guess!
Today, we did a Secret Santa at work and instead of buying cringe romance novels and candy for this other girl, I bought her a fantasy novel and a bag of dried mangos. When I went to leave for the day, I found both of my thoughtful gifts in the trash can. FML
Today, I went to a work party where we had a Secret Santa. I gave a nice set of beer bottles with glasses. When my name was called I naturally picked the biggest gift. I got groceries. I now have dog food and men's body spray. I don't have a boyfriend or a dog. FML
Not so Secret Santa
Today I volunteered to organize the office Secret Santa. I carefully tracked names, budgets and preferences. On gift day, I realized I’d emailed the spreadsheet to everyone. People now know who hates mugs, who regifted last year, and who wrote “Anything but candles.” Our Christmas spirit died pretty darned quick. FML
Today, my husband came home with a Christmas gift from a coworker. It's the same thing I got him. FML
Today, I invited my boss and his family over for dinner. As usual, I bought his kids Christmas' presents, nothing too fancy though. This year, he had one more that wasn't here last year. So I just pulled something from under the tree to hand him. He opened it on the spot. It was my son's PS3. FML
Today, I got a Christmas present from my boss. It was an ab workout video. FML
Oh shit
Today, I received a package labeled “Confidential.” Excited, I opened it in front of my coworkers, thinking it was a PR gift. It was the new toilet seat I'd mistakenly sent to my work address instead of my house. FML
Today, my boyfriend and I gave each other early Christmas gifts. I gave him a basketball signed by his favorite player, which took me forever to find. He got me diet pills. FML

That's not a toilet plunger, silly. One end is the suction cup to secure it to a smooth surface. The other end is for..... Have fun!

FYL. I would secretly steal someone else's gift. I mean, they don't like you anyway, so you've got nothing to lose..

At least you got a present OP so I don't see why it's so bad.

When I was a little kid, I went to a summer camp, and on the last day we did a gift exchange similar to secret Santa. I got my person a really nice gift and everyone seemed to be getting really great toys. But when it came time for my person to give me a gift, they revealed that they had forgotten about it and I got nothing. The camp instructors said that they would by candy for anyone who did not get a gift, but they forgot about that too. I was the only one without a great new toy. I will never forget that day.

The cheap or the extremely weird. Personally it would appeal to my sense of humour.

Hahaha, this reminds me of a really drunk Halloween night. Anyways OP, why are you bitching? Plungers are handy in extreme operating conditions. Also it'll last you a lot longer than a stupid make up kit. Be grateful. -_-

It might come in handy for Christmas. You never know, you might have no more room at the in.

Well... There's always the rent-a-puppies on fire-breathing-dragon-and-command-him-to-attack-the-turd-who-gave-you-that plan. Just sayin.

I got stuck with a discount card to a fancy restaurant at my dive club Christmas party. You have to spend $50 to get the $20 off. It's the kind of place where anyone but couples feel out of place, and I'm single and broke. So, FYL but don't feel too bad.
