Today, at the job I've had for eight years, I finally got the raise I was supposed to get a year ago. One hour later I found out the store was closing and we were all out of a job in two weeks. FML

Today, I got a phone call from my boss, who'd hired me after two months of waiting and begging for this position. A week into the job, the company is closing our store. FML
Today, the store I work at got shut down and I got let go. Three days ago I got a promotion and a raise. FML
Today, I got a badly-needed job at a local discount store. After being hired, I found out I'm to help with the soon-to-begin store closing sale, and I'll be jobless again after 3 months. FML
Today, I started an awesome job with competitive pay. I also found out that the place is closing its doors in June. FML
Today, my boss got a promotion and I got laid off. FML
Today, after finally getting a job offer after months of unemployment, I found out that the person who was going to hire me got fired. Which means I'm not getting the job. FML
Today, it's been less than a week since I finally got a job, after over a year of searching. I just found out that there's about to be a wave of layoffs. I haven't even gotten my first paycheck, and already I'm going to lose my job. FML
Today, I found out I'm getting a pay cut, a week after I told my boss I need a raise or second job just to afford bills. I made the company 10k last week. FML
Today, when I got to work, I found out that I was being laid off. Two hours later, I found out my boss had my name on the wrong list. I was elated. I went to lunch, but on the way back was rear-ended, in the rain. I was an hour and a half late getting back to work. I was fired upon returning. FML
Today, after 3 years at my job I received a 14% raise. I was informed I will be transitioned from hourly to salary. I will now be making $1500 LESS than I made last year. FML

Yeah, it does seem like your manager was adding insult to injury with that. On top of the raise, the store is legally bound to pay you compensation for closure!

Boo ******* ho about the raise. Now you know exactly why you didn't get it. The store was so deep in the red that it couldn't even pay you what it was already.

The raise that you where supposed to get a year ago? If you didn't get it a year ago then you weren't supposed to have it a year ago. At least they showed their appreciation for you by giving you some extra cash before closing down when they did not have to do so.

It's ok, I hear a lot of Butt Plug Emporiums are going out of business. People just don't seem to need them in this economy. I would advise you to seek a job in the prostitution sector. No matter how bad things get, there will always be greasy, creepy guys who are desperate enough to pay an overweight, 4-toothed ***** for sex.
