Today, all of my friends bailed from the birthday party I was throwing myself. This was also after they had encouraged me for months to have one, knowing I'd never had my birthday celebrated before. FML

Today, all of my friends showed up an hour late for my 18th birthday party because they decided to go get dinner without me. FML
Today, my friends threw me a surprise birthday party. I was genuinely surprised—and also genuinely hungover from celebrating my birthday alone the night before because they'd all told me they were busy. FML
Today, I had my 21st birthday party. My friends told me to have the party even though it had been 5 months since my actual 21st birthday. They asked me why I didn't have one originally and I jokingly told them it was because I didn't think anyone would come. Turned out nobody came after all. FML
Today, it was my 21st birthday and I invited a handful of my best friends over. They all stood me up and I drank alone in my apartment. Happy birthday to me. FML
Today, my friends decided to throw a going away party because I'm moving. It would have been great if I had actually been invited. FML
Today, my family and friends threw a surprise birthday party for me, after I'd said multiple times that I didn't want one. I turned and left and now everybody is angry at me and calling me ungrateful and spoiled. FML

Aw, OP! Please don't cry! Their pathetic actions aren't worth your tears. Those aren't real friends, and karma will get them one day. You don't need them in your life. Much better friends are out there waiting for you to meet them. Keep your chin up, smile, remember you're beautiful inside and out and try to make the best out of the day. I feel you op i have shitty friends that dont care about anything but themselves, they tell me to hang out with them and everytime i ask they are suddenly busy.... but hey better you know that they are bitches so u expect nothing from them next time

Something similar happened to me a few years ago. They hyped up over the arrangement (and honestly, got me more excited). My family made plans, which I later told them, and they said they were 'already doing stuff'. And I did find out later that they only paid me a visit because there was free food. At the time I actually remember begging them. Like everyone else said, OP, it's time to get new friends. Don't ever be a second option to others. I do hope soon you find friends who treat you right. But they have taught you a valuable lesson - how NOT to be a friend.

So I'm not he only one! They are idiots and do not appreciate you. Don't take it personally as a reflection on yourself, rather, a reflection on how idiotic and horrible 'friends' they are. Or rather, people in general. Sometimes it takes a lifetime to make true friends.
