OP here. I was on the toilet while he was brushing his teeth. After he turned the light off I said "Hello, someone still in here!" To which he replied, "Oops! Sorry Hun!" And turned it back on for me.

It shouldn't be too difficult to make your peeps and poops in the dark, most likely you are sitting down to do that. Us men on the other hand can completly miss the toilet peeing with the brightest of lights on.
