Today, after an entire year spent in physical therapy recovering from three knee surgeries, I finally returned to doing light agility exercises and running on a treadmill. When I told my therapist I had never been so happy and proud, he responded with, "This usually only takes 5 months, pussy." FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, after a month and a half of recovering from a sprained ankle, I was back in the gym training. After a grueling, sweaty session on the treadmill, I tripped walking down the stairs which sprained my other ankle. Back to round one. FML
Today, I was finally able to come home after 4 months in a hospital recovering from brain surgery and physical therapy. While taking a walk around the neighborhood, my new neighbor's Rottweiler ran after me. I tripped while running, got bit, and went back to the hospital for stitches. FML
Today, I'm celebrating one year of retirement. Also, almost one year of recovering from a broken leg, quickly followed by a broken hip. I may never walk correctly again. FML
Today, I tore my ACL while doing physical therapy that's supposed to keep me from tearing my ACL. FML
Today, I was discharged from the hospital after having scrotal surgery. When I got home, the anesthetic had worn off, but I felt okay. Then my dog jumped up at me, paws slamming straight into my nuts. FML
Today, after spending two hard months losing 20 pounds of my 80 pound goal, I was actually excited to exercise. After I was done exercising, I fell down the stairs and broke my ankle. FML
Today, I finally got my son to go for a run. He broke his neck 4 months ago and has been playing video games the entire time. I was a competitive runner once and run everyday. He kicked my ass, 21 minutes for the first 5k and he sped up. He was back playing video games when I finally got home. I think I lost a lung on the trails. FML
Today, I was getting ready for work. When I stepped back, my ankle rolled and my fat ass landed on it with my foot sideways under me. Now I’m in a boot for 6 weeks and have 6 weeks of physical therapy ahead of me. FML
Today, I had a swollen knee, and was slowly limping to the toilet. All of a sudden, my mom ran past me, beating me to it. As she closed the door, she said, "AT LEAST I CAN RUN!" FML
Today, I got back to work from a 4 month hospital stay and I joked with my boss that after so long away, I’m not planning on being sick again for years. Two hours later, a coworker knocked me down the stairs. A dislocated hip and a broken femur requiring 4-6 weeks of recovery. FML

Wow that's so mean! Some people have different recovery speeds so your PT can back off. Maybe you should get a new one. Good luck!

Physical therapy progression depends entirely on the individual. Regardless of what your therapist says to you OP ignore him/her they sound like a arse hole.

I am training to be a therapist so i can tell you that, 1: he was out of line that was extremely unprofessional. 2: There is usually an expected recovory period based on studies of otherwise healthy adults with no complications. 3: if it has taken you a year to achive 5 months of recovery then the two most common reasons are, (a) that your therapist didn't provide the nessersary home program or education you required or (b) that you have been over cautious or have had low motivation and your therapist didn't pick up on this or didn't do anything when he did pick up on this. You should give a negative (but polite) report of this therapist to the organisation that he is regesterd with.

See... He's a dick and an idiot for the simple fact that you had 3 surgeries, which each have a heal time of 5 months. You finished by over 1/4 of a year. Way to go!!!

Recovery time for everyone is not the same, not always at least he's an asshole and you should've politely kicked his ass.
