Today, a McDonald's employee had to correct my math after counting out $2.37 in change. I'm in AP Calculus and am currently learning how to find the derivative of an inverse of a logarithm. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, I was tending the cash register. I scanned a lady's items which totaled $89.68. She paid with a $100 bill. I gave her $11.32 change. She angrily gave back the extra dollar and complained about "schools nowadays". I'm an AP Calculus student. FML
Today, while working at McDonald's a car full of obnoxious teens came through. They had made a $30 order, and handed me a tin of small change, claiming that on a McDonald's ad they saw that we, employees, liked counting change. I had to count out $30 in spare change during a rush period at work. FML
Today, an old man, while I was working, asked me to spell average-length words. Confused, I refused. Turns out I was apparently taking too long counting the large amount of small change he'd given to me, and he assumed I couldn't count or spell. I study law, and I've learned basic calculus. Welcome to retail. FML
Maths is hard
Today, disappointed with my results on a mathematics test, I went over it and realized my teacher had added up the marks incorrectly, leaving me with 17% less than I earned. The person who's supposed to be teaching me math can't even perform basic arithmetic. FML
Brain freeze
Today, I was working my job as a waitress near my college. I handed a customer her check, and she noticed that I had added her bill wrong. I apologized, and she pointed to my "student" labeled nametag, asking what I was studying. I said English. I'm a math major. FML
Today, McDonalds charged me 21 cents for a honey mustard packet. The jerk manager made me break a $50 bill. So I grabbed all their napkins, carried them into the parking lot and tossed them all into the air in protest and drove off. Down the road, I realized I left my wallet at the counter. FML
I just work here
Today, while checking out a couple at work, I handed them their receipt and wished them a good day. The woman promptly pulled her husband to the side, and whispered to him about how much of a "fucking idiot" I was for making the prices so high. I work at McDonald's. FML
Gratitude
Today, I saw a man help an elderly lady with her tray at the local McDonald's. I wanted to do something nice for him, so I added a couple extra nuggets in his meal. He later came up to me and told me I was dumb and didn't know how to count, and that was why I was working at McDonald's. FML
Today, I have a final for my precalculus class. After hours of studying this week, I felt pretty optimistic. Until I got to class and realized that I'd forgotten my calculator. FML
Today, while working at a gas station, I accidentally changed the price of gas to 8.9 cents per litre. It took me fifteen minutes to figure out why everyone wanted only two or three dollars of gas. I fixed it, but now my managers are debating charging me for lost revenue. FML

No big deal. Simple mistake. I have a PhD in English and misstype/spell words weekly. That doesn't mean I'm any less intelligent.

Who the **** you think you are that someone from mcdonalds can't be smart? A lot of people work at chain restarunts to pay for school, medical bills, etc.

Again: YDI for looking down your nose at a service industry worker. Now chill.

Just because someone is working at McDonald's doesn't mean they're stupid. Maybe they work there to pay for university. Not all of us have to option of mommy and daddy paying for us, some of us work for what we want. For someone who claims to be so smart you're pretty stupid and illogical.

Hey, jackass I'm a high school student taking ******* calculus 3 and I work at mcdonalds. try doing a surface integral and not judge people, jackass.

This is the most boring FML I've read

#37- i'm just saying. finding the derivative of an inverse logarithm is VERY different than finding the inverse of a logarithm. two completely different problems. and the former is much more complicated.

No. There is no such thing as "much more complicated" when it comes to finding derivatives. That would be like saying multiplication is "much more complicated" than addition. Derivatives follow a simple set of rules. A well-trained monkey could do them. Dolphins probably could too. There's nothing remotely complicated about the "derivative of an inverse logarithm", whether that means the derivative of an exponential or the derivative of a logarithimic function to the -1 power. If you think any of that is complicated, you'll never get past integrals. You should stop doing math now and choose something else to spend your time on.

Not as complicated as learning how to use the reply function it seems

FYL indeed...because you thought a math error was worthy of fml...and you used calculus as a name drop. This mattered to you, FYL

The "inverse of a logarithm" is an exponential. The derivative of an exponential is itself. If it took you longer to learn that than it did to write your FML, that would explain why you also have trouble counting to ten.
