Today, a customer came in to the Pizza store where I work and complained that the food they had purchased had a strand of black hair in it. After some deliberation, my boss decided to fire me. He is the only staff member there with black hair. I shaved my hair 2 weeks ago. FML

Today, I work at a food joint as a chef, and a customer found a long strand of hair in her food. The manager blamed me, even though I'm bald. FML
Today, I went to a restaurant for lunch. I began to eat when I noticed a blond hair in my food. When that happened, I went up to the counter and began complaining about their hygiene. When the manager insisted no one that works there had long blond hair, I realized that it was my hair. FML
Today, I was fired from my job because I would "scare" the customers. Two days ago, a coworker spilled fry oil onto the grill, causing flames to singe my eyebrows and the front of my hair off. FML

Today, I arrived at the pizza place I work at to find that I'd been fired. Apparently, the class stoner came in last night and not only demanded a free pizza, but also claimed that I always gave him one. I've never talked to this kid in my life, but my boss still doesn't believe me. FML
Today, I'm broke and just started working in a restaurant at a luxury hotel. On my first day, the director had told me to get rid of my blue dyed hair. Back at work with a new fresh 57€ cut and no blue in sight, he saw me. I have some blonde streaks in the back, and if I don't get rid of them within a week, I'm fired. FML
Today, my boss threatened to fire me for racism after I refused to hire a black woman. I didn't hire her because she came to the interview wearing what was basically a bikini and she was covered in tattoos depicting lewd sex acts. FML
Today, I was getting lunch at a fast food restaurant. My boss was in front of me, and in order to get on his good side I offered to pay. Instead, I got fired because I guess my boss assumed I was making fun of his salary, which I knew nothing about. FML
Today, my boss called me into his office. I thought I was getting promoted because my sales had been really high lately. My boss shut his door behind me and asked me if I could comb his hair with a lice comb to get rid of his lice. I had to do it to keep my job. FML

#70, with this economy, pretty hard. But was the customer's hair black, maybe it fell in when he was eating/grabbing for the pizza. OR he could of put his own hair in to get a new pizza and complain, i know someone who did that before...

Sucks. If you live in a state where you can do something about it, I might. Just to get back at your boss for being an ass. Sadly, that shit doesn't fly here in Texas. Texas is an "At Will" state, you can be fired with no notice, for any reason at any time unless you have a contract.

i might sound stupid, but is it really _that_ big a deal when you have a piece of hair in your food in the first place? hair falls out daily and its not likely we can see the strands because they're so fine. it may be gross but the lady could've just taken it out...i've never heard of anyone getting sick from a hair.

#25 There are terms for different causes of mental retardation (which is the medical term, by the way). Are we saying that this person is developmentally disabled? Do they have a learning disability? Have they had a traumatic brain injury? The term "mentally challenged" is neither politically nor scientifically correct. I believe the term #14 was looking for was "ignorant". Coincidentally, it's the same term I would apply to you, #25. Cheers.

Ok - to clear things up (I posted #14) Firstly, the term "Mentally Challenged" was not meant to hold any form of political or scientific validity. I was searching my mind for terms I could use to explain the complete ignorance (thanks #81) of the posters here. If you chose to post either to state that this moron should sue, OR you posted to say me using the term "mentally challenged" was somehow stupid, you display the ignorance I suggested above. Secondly, yes, it is easily defended by the boss. Any sort of blemish on the employee's record coupled with the employer saying "He was fired not for the hair, but how he handled the situation and how he dealt with the customer" would amount to the employee being terminated with just cause. If the employee truly want's to try and sue for this, he'll pay more in lawyer fees that he can get for a wrongful termination suit at a Pizza Shop. In summary, grow the **** up.
