Time marches on
Today, after looking back at our high school photos, I told my fiancée I’ve been scared lately that I’m getting uglier with age, and that I was much prettier back then. He got really quiet, and then agreed with me.. I’m only 24. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my boyfriend and I were looking through an old photo album of mine. I turned to a page with a picture of me on my last day of college. I thought the picture was quite nice. He turned to me and said, "Don't worry, I take bad pictures too." FML
Today I got my senior pictures back from the photographer. When my boyfriend saw them, he said I look creepy. Not pretty, not beautiful, not even decent. Creepy. FML
Today, my 11-year-old son and I were going through some old photos. He saw one of me when I was 22 on a beach, wearing a bikini. He said "Wow! Who's that?" Quite proudly I said it was me. He looked at me and said "What happened?" FML
Today, I used to look so young for my age that in high school, I was regularly mistaken for a freshman. I never succeeded in getting dates because of it. Today, I'm 25 years-old and regularly get confused for being in my thirties. I guess all the stress from work, loneliness, and rejection really caught up. FML
Today, I went to my high school reunion. Someone walked up to me and said, "Wow, you look so different!" She then followed it up with, "You used to be so pretty, what happened?" FML
Today, I was in the store when a man started chatting me up. He was good looking and charming. He asked, “So, what are you, 22-23?” I saw him visibly recoil in disgust when I told him my real age. I’m only 35, he was about 50, but he acted like he couldn’t runaway fast enough. FML
Today, after dating for almost five years, my boyfriend stated that I have a "perfect and amazing personality" but that my looks are not what he "envisioned himself spending the rest of his life with." In other words, I'm ugly. FML
Today, my boyfriend told me he was showing off pictures of me to co-workers. It wasn't until later that he said, "Don't worry, they were old pictures, from when you were hot." They were from four years ago. FML
Today, I was excited that my new skin care regimen seemed to be paying off. I told my husband of 35 years about it and asked him if I "looked good". He looked me over as if I were a stalled engine and said, "You look less stressed. That's good, but I mean… You still look like yourself." FML
Today, the new guy at work - who is probably at least ten years older than I am - admired the photo on my desk of myself with my husband and teenage daughters and asked, "Are those your grandchildren?" I'm in my 40's. FML

Don’t ask questions that you don’t want an honest answer to. You cannot have both an honest relationship and someone who always tells you the lie you want to hear. Honesty is far better than a lie. OP’s problem isn’t her fiancé, it’s her self image and how she takes care of herself. Those things are up to her. OP, if you don’t like what you see in the mirror and you are still in your 20’s it’s not impossible to fix the problems. Identify what the major issues are and work on self improvement. Do it for yourself. Maybe it’s as simple as just style and makeup and a smile and with the pandemic going on you haven’t been dressing up like you used to. Maybe it’s muscle tone or weight - That can be improved with the appropriate effort. Maybe it’s complexion - A dermatologist could help. Whatever it is that you are unhappy about could likely be improved with a sincere effort.

You'd better get that ring before you become The Cryptkeeper. At your rate, that could be age 27 or so.

Your fiancé sounds real mature. I worry that his put downs will become a trend in your marriage. If he doesn't fully appreciate you, he can leave. By the way, he is definitely wrong.

With age? Looked prettier back then? You're only 24.
