Certainly you are right, but still that IS a pretty hilarious name for distance measuring device. Always get exactly that association even I know them for my work.

Everybody knows the odometer doesn't measure the smell of humans, it measures how stinky the gas you put into the car is. You don't want it to get to smelly that's why you put fresh gas in as the odometer gets higher.
