Taking sides

Today, after months of not wanting anything to do with her dad, my three-year-old was over her phase. During dinner, I play-shoved my husband and he did it back. Our daughter saw him and now keeps saying, "It’s not nice to push mommy." We’re back to square one. FML

Halloween

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.

maybe I'm overreacting, but it seems abnormal for her to hate bring around her dad so much. maybe keep an eye out for signs of abuse. especially given that she's trying to protect you

Adults do not shove each other at the dinner table. Children do that and get corrected for doing so. Remember that little eyes are watching and are prone to take sides in what they see as a fight. What you did was human but foolish. You need to explain that to your child.

Children take after adults, remember that. They see you do something and they may think its ok to do, playful or not. And 3 is a very impressionable age. I'd watch what you do and say around her especially if she was already having issues wanting to be around her father at such a young age. It's not good. I wish you all the best in the future.
