Social anxiety wins again
Today, an attractive guy asked me to get coffee with him. My response was, "I don't drink coffee." I turned down the first guy to ask me out in 3 months. FML

I have an idiot friend who has said this before. Even though she's very attractive, she's 50 and single. I can't get it through her thick skull it's not about the coffee! Just go and watch him drink coffee -- drink tea or eat a biscotta if you have to. Watching him put his mouth around that hot, steamy vessel ought to be worth your time ;)

If he's someone you can run into again(neighbor or co-worker or something)try asking him out instead. Obviously if he asked you out he thinks you're attractive so GO GET HIM. Don't let slip ups ruin things.
