Today, after being friends with a guy, age 35, for a year, he asked if we could progress the relationship romantically. I'm keen but it's been a month, and the closest touching we have done is a hug. Slowest relationship ever. FML

Today, after I got reacquainted with an old friend with whom it'd been 12 years since we last spoke, both divorced, with kids, we started talking, start feeling things for each other. We'd both agreed to take things slow. We spend an amazing weekend together, made plans to spend my birthday together, and then I was ghosted. FML
Today, after I met a guy online and we'd became fast friends, talking every day about everything, things got flirty after half a year of talking. A year in, I finally got the time to meet up with him. It turns out he lied about his age. He's 8 years younger and in college. I fell head over heels. Help. FML

I said I thought it was what he wanted, given his apparent interest. He said that he's only like that because he does missionary work, and wanted to become a friend. I'm a man. FML
Today, I convinced my best friend to talk to the guy I like at work to find out if he was interested in me. She came back ten minutes later, and told me he said he'd never be able to date me. Apparently, kissing me "would be like making out with Mother Teresa's corpse." FML
Today, it's been a year since I met a guy online. We clicked almost immediately. Eventually we started dating, after proving who we are through many sources. Turns out he lied about his age after he conspired to make sure I was 100% in love with him before telling me the truth. He's legal but the age gap is uncomfortable. FML
Today, the guy I've been seeing told me he did not want to pursue a relationship with me after over two months of talking. He did the exact same thing to me seven years ago. I fell for him twice. FML

Tell him if you want more. We cannot read minds and are known to read too much into actions. And if we make assumptions that are wrong we could ruin a great relationship or worse, end up on some government naughty list. Guys are in a no-win situation. So, take the next step by TELLING him.

He may be worried that you’re not too romantically into it because transitioning from “friend” to “girlfriend” is really difficult. Read the situation but maybe you can put in some of the initiative if you want more from the relationship.
