Today, I sent a guy in my English class a rose. He's kind of an outcast, so I though it would be a nice gesture. I asked him later how his day was going and he said, "Good. I got a rose this morning, but I could tell it was from a guy. The handwriting was awful." FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I was in class when someone came in with a rose for me. My teacher made me read the card aloud: "I'm breaking up with you, happy Valentine's." It was from my boyfriend. FML
Today, I bought the girl I like a bouquet of roses saying "Anonymous" on it, and left it on her front porch. She saw it, and called the guy she thought it was from. He said, "You're welcome!" and now they're going out. FML
Today, I sent the girl I like flowers, only to have her later post a picture of them online, saying, "Ha! When losers send you flowers." FML
Today, I wrote my boyfriend a love letter during class and told him to read it when he got home. He texted me later asking me why I gave him my school assignment. I must have handed the love letter in to my teacher. FML
Today, I sent a dozen roses and a hand-written, heart-felt note to my ex-girlfriend to show her that I'm still madly in love with her. When I asked if she got the flowers I sent, she replied, "Yeah but you got the wrong color. You should've gotten yellow, that stands for friendship." FML
Today, I got a rose from my boyfriend. The card read, "It's over." FML
Today, a guy I liked is moving away. He gave me a flower, saying it was a farewell gift even though he's moving to my hometown where I'm also returning to. I was confused because while it wasn't a rose, this isn't common where we're from. He then told me he's been in love with our friend since their first conversation. FML
Today, the attractive guy I barely speak to in my statistics class gave me a rose for Valentine's Day because he remembered they were my favorite. My husband got me a roll of quarters and told me to go buy myself "something pretty." FML
Today, I wrote my boyfriend a poem, and left it on the bed with a rose for him to see after work. When I came home later, I noticed the flower in the trash, and the poem had been used as gum wrapper. FML
Today, I wrote out a note to the guy I liked. I went to hand it to him, but he said, "Sorry, that's not mine," and walked away. I was so nervous, I couldn't speak. FML

Well, you had good intentions, but I think that was a pretty strange gesture. I mean, a rose has a strong romantic connotation (I hope it was yellow, at least ^^') so as a 'pity gift' it's really weird. Two things could happen here : believing it was a prank (that would have been my first thought too) ; getting his hopes up that someone wants to go out with him, which doesn't seem to be your intention (and is thus pretty cruel). Wjy didn't you just go talk to him like a normal person? ^^'

Im a guy. I love roses and was thrilled when I was given roses. They smell great and look beautiful. And before you go claiming a derogatory remark about my manhood, I have a wife and am happily married to her. Guys can appreciate sentiment and beauty too. We aren’t all neanderthal cavemen.
