Today, the guy I’ve had a crush on for ever declined a date with me to see the new Deadpool & Wolverine movie because he isn’t interested in dating. I decided to go to see the movie on my own. I ran into him at the same screening I went to, all cozied up with another girl. What the hell does she have that I don’t? FML

Today, I was watching a movie alone, after receiving a text from my boyfriend saying that his grandma was at the hospital, so he couldn't go with me. I caught him on a date with another girl, at the same movie screening that I went to. FML
Today, I finally got the courage to make a move on the guy I've been crushing on. I asked him if he would like to go see a movie with me. He answered, "Sorry, I've already seen it." I didn't even mention any particular movie. FML
Today, after not hanging out with anyone the whole year, a guy finally asked me to go the movies with him. When I asked what time, he said, "Never mind, I found another girl." FML
Today, I went to the movies with my crush, who had asked me out on a date. Assuming he'd pay, I left my money at home. When the time came to buy the tickets, he only bought one for himself. FML
Today, I went on what I thought was a solo outing with my longtime crush. He decided to invite a friend along. I had to pick her up half an hour away from town, he treated her to the movie we were watching while I had to pay for myself, he fingered her in the theatre, and made out with her on the drive home. FML
Today, I went to the movies with a girl I like, then we went to grab a bite afterwards. She spent most of the time telling me how much she dislikes my best friend because he hooked up with a new girl. I then found out the two had been "talking" for a while. FML
Today, an old friend of mine refused to go to a movie with me. Turns out he was sitting in front of me with my girlfriend. FML
Today, I had my first ever date. He invited me to dinner and a movie. Then he put on "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo." I couldn’t think of an excuse to get out, so I had to wait till the end of the film. FML
Today, I asked a buddy of mine if he wanted to go see a movie. He said he was busy, so I decided to go alone. Midway through, the couple behind me was making out and kicking my seat. I turned around, and it's my ex-girlfriend making out with my buddy. FML
Today, I went to the movies with my boyfriend. We went inside the theatre and he saw a couple of his friends. Instead of saying hi and coming back to watch the movie with me, he ditched me for them. When I reminded him he was forgetting something, he grabbed the popcorn out of my hands and left. FML

It took a LOT for you to reach out to him and ask him on that date. Good for you! It stinks that he lied to you, no way around it. Had he said he already had a date planned, you would have seen them and been upset, but you would have kept on pineing for him. As much as this hurts, you can now see him in a different light and stop your own daily anxiety and worry wondering if he liked you back. This is an opportunity to find someone who likes you back.

Hey.. Attraction is a weird thing, and very seldom logical. Some people are attracted to abusive partners because that is what they grew up with, so that feels familiar in some weird, twisted way. The subconscious can be a really stupid thing. But the sad fact is that it either is there, or it isn't. At least he tried to protect your feelings. Work on yourself and pursue your own happiness, that is ultimately what will make you attractive to a future partner.

"Lied" seems kind of harsh. "I'm not ready for a relationship right now" is a highly traditional way to get out of these situations.

What a stupid jerk. Forget him. Lying should be a dealbreaker to you. If he lied about not wanting a relationship god knows what else he would lie about. You’re better off with someone honest and with integrity.
