Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my twit of a husband admitted to falling for an internet scam involving a dead foreign politician, the promise of a share in millions of dollars currently stuck in a bank, and him having wired a large amount of our money to "bribe an official". FML
Today, I found out that my husband is an undercover crypto/NFT dipshit. I found this out when I looked at our joint account to find he had transferred a hell of a lot of actual money to some sort of BTC account with a dumb name. He now claims it's "the future", and I just "don't understand." FML
Today, my husband fell for an online scam leaving us 1450.00 in the negative. We get paid tomorrow and most of our money is going to cover that debt. FML
Today, I learned that my dad invested my entire college fund into some shady internet stock, despite my dire warnings about being careful. He told me not to worry as he'd done some research, and he guaranteed everything would be fine. Two hours later that same stock dropped almost 75%. FML
Today, after I lost $5000 in crypto yesterday, I'm now down about $150k total since the start of the year. I just deployed more and bought $FML to make up for the losses. Hopefully it’ll happen. FML
Today, my husband has been sulking because he got the urge to play Runescape and discovered that his old account was hacked and he lost all his fake money and items. FML
Today, I found out that my boyfriend lost a bunch of money by buying some scam cryto crap linked to that "Hawk tuah" girl. Easiest break-up ever. FML
Today, my son admitted to maxing out my credit card, gambling on a some scam website that a dumbass streamer was promoting. He's only 10. FML
Today, my wife handed over most of our son's college fund, in cash, to an investment scammer going by the name "Herp A. Derpson". FML
Today, I found out my broker invested my $6000 in the wrong stock. How did I find out? He called me to let me know the stock crashed. FML
Feel like sharing it with the other FML users?
Thanks, your FML was submitted, and will appear in the moderation queue soon!

I have to hope that this will be an expensive learning experience for your husband and not just one of many such expensive lessons. He needs to remember this - If it sounds too good to be true you are being scammed. Unfortunately when people are desperate they can be the most vulnerable to a scammer which just makes a bad situation much worse. If this is a one time event, the two of you will need to figure how to cope with the loss. Most scammers are very effective at covering their tracks so the money is likely unrecoverable. But report it to the police anyway - That might help and also documents your loss. If husband is prone to doing foolish things like this more than once you may need to think carefully if he’s the one you want to keep in your life. The question is can and will he learn from this?

never been married before, huh? typically they share assets, so his loss is also their loss.

If you earned your own money, you wouldn't be so concerned.

If it was ethereum or bitcoin it'll likely go back up in a few years. Just resist the urge to sell at a low.

Was it a scam, or did he spend $5k and then the token didn't grow like he expected and it shrank? Cause like that's how it works....
