Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my idiot boyfriend, who thinks he's an outdoorsman, made sauce from mushrooms he'd foraged. I refused to eat it. He got upset and had two helpings. He's now in bed, whining about how bad he feels. Stupid dumbass. FML
Today, I was quietly admiring my boyfriend from outside the kitchen as he made us dinner, only to witness him drop a load of spaghetti on the floor, swear, then scoop it all up and place it back on the plate. FML
Today, my boyfriend came home and demanded dinner. I started suggesting things, but he threw out that we should just fend for ourselves. I made pasta and offered him some, but he decided to throw a fit and go to bed at 6:30pm without dinner. He then woke up at 9 to complain he was hungry, then slept on the couch. FML
Today, my boyfriend made a mess eating spaghetti. Yes, he is older than 5. FML
Today, I bought tomato sauce and tomato paste to make rigatoni. Forgot to buy the meat and the pasta. FML
Today, I spent all day preparing a big, elaborate Italian dinner for my boyfriend, who recently discovered he was part Italian. He came home, turned up his nose and said "I was in the mood for Chinese". FML
Today, my boyfriend was cooking me dinner. He walked away and I decided to help by giving the pan of veggies a sautee flip. My boyfriend failed to mention that he had just pulled that pan out of a 500 degree oven. FML
Today, my boyfriend has a freezer full of his favorite dish, which I cooked for him, yet he is subsisting on chocolate and those pathetic ready-made sandwiches from the supermarket. Why? Thawing and heating up a meal is too much trouble when I’m not there to do it for him. FML
Today, I spent an hour making my favorite work lunches, then portioning them out so I could have them all week. I later came home to a pile of empty containers. My girlfriend said, "Sorry, I got the munchies. Also, can you please do the dishes?" FML
Today, I made homemade pasta from scratch. I spent hours kneading the dough, rolling it out, and cutting it into perfect strips. When I went to cook it, I realized that I forgot to add salt to the dough. The pasta tasted like damp cardboard. FML

Sounds like he wasted his time on you, hope he ate all of it. Eat your store-bought and shut it.

How did it taste? If it was good, let him take pride in his work.

Good for him. Making food from scratch is a wonderful process for some, uses fresh ingredients, and tastes better.

Here's a thought... Instead of being ungrateful and scoffing at someone wanting to take the time to treat you to something home cooked, help him prepare it next time. You'll get to spend time together, learn something new and build a bigger bond.

Coming from an Italian American family, I try to keep my heritage alive through cooking. Did you ever think that might be one of the reasons he did that? When compared to sauce made from scratch, there is no such thing as perfectly good sauce in a jar. I hope you either apologize profusely or he dumps you for being so u grateful.

What's wrong with homemade sauce? I HATE sauce from a jar, it's always too sweet.
