Today, I was chilling with my best friend and suddenly I got a text from my ex saying he wanted me back. My best friend saw the text and said, "Don't go back with him, you deserve better." I wanted to go back with him but I didn't. Later, I saw them hanging out and turns out they're dating. FML
Today, my best friend broke up with her partner. In retaliation, he got drunk and stole my car, then crashed it into a neighbour's house. Then after dealing with the police who didn't arrest him, he and my best friend made up and went to bed. FML
Today, my best friend decided to start dating my ex. We broke up yesterday. She also thinks I'm crazy because I'm upset about it. FML
Today, my supposed "best friend" started going out with the girl I'd just split up with, immediately after she said she wanted to see other people. FML
Today, I was talking to my best friend about how much of an asshole my ex-boyfriend is. After about 2 hours of non-stop bitching, it turns out she's actually dating him. FML
Today, I went on a blind date set up by my best friend. When I got there, my "date" was my ex. My best friend knew, and she thought it would be "funny" to see how we would react. FML
Today, after a great double date with my best friend and two really hot guys, we went back to my place. My friend and I left the guys in the living room to go grab some more wine. When we came back, we found our dates making out with each other on the couch. FML
Today, my boyfriend posted pictures of him at the bar last night with his ex. And ones of them in her bed this morning. I guess we're sleeping with other people? FML
Today, I went to a party and saw my current boyfriend making out with my ex-boyfriend. FML
Today, I found that my "lesbian" best friend and roommate is now dating the guy I've been trying to get a date with for weeks. FML

I say let them. If it works out, you'll have helped them find happiness, and you won't have been seen as petty, or jealous. If it doesn't work out, you can tell your friend "There's a reason he was my ex first."

Probably because a lot of the time, when people break up, they don't want anything to do with the person they broke up with. If this guy is now dating the person's best friend, who they presumably spend a lot of time with, they'll be required to keep some degree of contact with this guy.

Since she's your best friend, you two need to have a chat. You need to be open-minded about her potential feelings, and she needs to respect that you share history with this man. I hope you can find happiness, but you also need to remember people aren't robots and cant always control who they fall for.
