Today, I realized my habit of asking people for money came to an all time high when I asked a girl to Cash App me $5 through Instagram. She literally sent me A PENNY, said, “Quit fucking asking me for money fam” and then blocked me. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I asked my friend, once again, to pay me back the $500 she owes me. She got annoyed and told me, “I told you, my Cash App locked me out of my account!” When I mentioned Venmo, she said she'd forgotten her password to it, called me a "selfish c*nt", and hung up on me. FML
Today, my friend told me to try dating apps, saying, “What's the worst that could happen?” I just finished paying some girl $100 to not send a dick pic to all my Facebook friends. FML
Today, I was stopped at a light when a woman approached, asking for help to buy food. I told her I only had a dollar, but she could have it. After I gave it to her, she stepped back, held it up, then proceeded to tear it into pieces, before walking away while calling me a cheapskate. Really? FML
Today, some girl hit me up and was flirting with me over text. It turns out she was doing it for money and it’s been so long that I almost fell for it. FML
Today, I was texted out of the blue by a girl I treated to dinner last year. Since then, we'd chatted and met in passing a few times, but she'd turned down or cancelled all my other date invitations. Sadly, she wasn't trying to meet up. She wanted $500 to benefit a male friend, who was down on his luck. FML
Today, I was at a Baskin Robbins, and because of COVID, I don’t take any coin change. The cashier handed me $1 and a cent. I said, “Keep the penny.” That basically meant, “You're worth a penny”. She gave me the stink eye as I was leaving. FML
Today, I got approached by a lady while eating at a fast-food restaurant who asked if I could spare five dollars. Confidently, I pulled out my wallet to show her that I had no cash, only to reveal a perfectly crisp five dollar bill that I had completely forgotten about. FML
Today, my friend PayPal-ed me some money to tide me over until my school loans come through. For a transaction description, he wrote, "To get back in that pussy game." It got red flagged, and I had to talk with three female customer service agents before it went through. FML
Today, I was cashiering, and a customer's change came to $5.51. She looked pretty stinking rich, so I just gave her $5.50. She demanded the extra penny, and I asked if she really needed it. She said, "No, but they do, asshole," and dropped her $5.51 in the charity donation box. FML
Today, I was working at my job as cashier. This really attractive girl who often comes in walked in, so I mustered up the courage to ask her out by writing my number on a dollar bill. She paid and the amount her change happened to be a dollar. I go to hand her the money when she sees it and says, "Keep the change!" FML

Do you have so many rich friends that asking for money all the time has become such a bad habit? Damn. FYL for not having money, but YDI for leeching your friends. Pro tip: If you need money for food, then ask them to go shopping for you. Don't ask for cash.

New High? Like it is a good thing to be a leach?? YDI. If you are in such dire financial straights, then take a long hard look at why. Are you working? Can you get a better job? Can you work more hours? What about a 2nd job? Can you cut back on expenses? (smaller house/apartment, cutting hvac Temps higher in summer and lower in winter, turning off every light (reducing #of bulbs in multi-bulb fixtures), dropping subscription services (cable or streaming) shorter bath/showers, eating at home more (more rice/beans and less taco bell) cut back on shopping for luxury items).. every little thing helps. I have 2 nieces who mooch everyone they can for every dime. one (her, hubby and kids) live with their father in his paid off home, and yet they ask me to pay their electricity bill every month. they have 3 incomes and can't pay basic bills and expect others to pay for them. So, I'm on the other side of your situation and get tired of saying NO every 2 weeks for something else.No wonder you were blocked. I would not have given even the penny.
