Today, a guy came into my gas station, showed me the gun on his hip, and asked me to kindly empty the register. My asshole boss claimed afterwards that because we live in an open carry state, and because the guy didn't point the gun at me, that there was no actual robbery and I just gave him free money. FML

Today, I was robbed while working overnight at the gas station. They demanded I give them all the cash in the register. Seeing they were armed, I was reduced to tears and complied. They mocked me and took a video with their cellphone. When I told my boss, he promptly fired me for not “fighting back.” FML
Today, while working third shift alone at a gas station, I had to deal with a crazy guy tripping balls and asking me if it was okay to bring a gun into the place. I don't get paid nearly enough for this. FML
Today, my boss asked if he could pay me in guns. FML
Today, I stopped by the gun store to pick up a new concealed weapon for protection. As I was leaving the store, a man came up behind me, hit me with a crowbar, and stole my gun. FML
Today, I got robbed at the gas station I work at. After only getting $38 dollars out the register, the guy then stole my purse. It had my rent money in it. FML
Today, my friend was pulled over and told to get out of the car. The officer motioned for me to get out of the car too so I reached behind me to get my shoes. He then pointed his gun at my face and frantically asked my friend if I had a gun. My friend calmly replied, "No, but shoot him anyway." FML
Today, I was late to work and couldn't get my gas tank open. Panicking, I asked the only person around to help me who happened to be a very large man. He was able to open it for me and seemed really nice. That is until he pulled out a knife and robbed me. FML
Today, a man tried to rob the store I work at. Before the guy was taken by the cops, he complained to my manager for "unfriendly behavior". He took it seriously and bitched me out for not providing "quality service" to our customers. FML
Today, a couple came into the gas station where I work to ask for directions. While I was giving the woman directions (and even writing them down to be as helpful as possible), the man stole my wallet out of my purse that was sitting on the other end of the counter behind a display. FML
Today, I was at work when two sheriff's deputies walked in. They asked me my name and when I told them, they asked me to turn around and they cuffed me. They told me I was under arrest for robbery. Turns out I was mistakenly IDed, but now every one at my job thinks I'm an armed robber. FML

I don't think the owner or manager of a connivence store can be 'guilty' of corporate greed. Their income is still probably well under six figures.

actually, most corporations are so afraid of potential lawsuits that employee safety in a situation like that is top priority. You're right that they still don't actually care, but if op works for a corporation, he could probably report his boss's attitude to higher ups (like a district manager) and save his job (if he still wants it after this bs). it doesn't sound like he does, though.

Robbery (noun) - Law. the felonious taking of the property of another from his or her person or in his or her immediate presence, against his or her will, by violence or intimidation. I guess most people would technically consider it intimidation, but since the man was being polite and never showed any actual intent to use the gun there's no way to prove it and by law and evidence it effectively is not robbery.

I love how everyone is assuming he was polite. It said he asked if OP could kindly give him the money. I have asked people to "Kindly shut the **** up." It doesn't mean that the robber was being polite, but that the robber was telling OP to be polite.

But I think we can safely assume the robber didn't yell or raise his voice. When asking someone to kindly do something even if it's "shut the **** up", it's generally going to be in an insincere almost mockingly polite tone of voice. So still no way to prove intent or anything else you would have to to get him arrested.
