Kids love that sort of repetition
Today, my child thinks it's hilarious to continuously pour his entire Lego collection all over the floor. When I tidy it away, he does it all over again. FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, my 3-year-old broke his glasses, clogged the toilet with Hot Wheel cars, and covered the whole house with Cheerios. All in a matter of roughly six minutes while I was putting laundry away. FML
Today, I stepped on not one, not two, but three Legos, all on different occasions throughout the day. FML
Today, as revenge for being grounded for bullying a kid at school, my eight-year-old son flung a handful of Lego into my path as I walked barefoot into the kitchen. I'm still in pain. FML
Today, after spending over two hours cleaning my kitchen from top to bottom, my 5-year-old then runs in, yells, “Snowstorm!” and throws a bag of flour all over the floor. FML
Today, my 3 year old kid wanted to do something nice. I told him he could pick up some of his toys. He washed my new Iphone instead. FML
Today, my son was playing with a piece of plastic wrapping and trying not to let it fall to the floor as if it were a balloon. This is after he got some kick ass gifts for Christmas. Kids. FML
Today, my four year-old wants to throw out all his toys and get new ones for Christmas. His reasoning is that if he throws them away, there will be space for all new toys. He doesn't understand sustainability or environment. He's been explaining this calmly over and over again for two hours now. FML
Today, my 2-year-old son figured out that if he takes his pull-up off and DOESN'T go on the potty, he can pee all over things. FML
Today, right after preparing a gourmet plate of dry-aged steak with freshly cooked mashed potatoes, I stepped on my son's Lego and dropped my plate. I stood there for 5 minutes, crying. FML
Today, my 6-year-old son apparently decided to make a game out of clogging the toilet with toilet paper. He won, and now the whole basement is flooded. FML

And it's time to say, "Next time, they're going away." Then you put them away for a week. The time after that, you put them away for a month. When you give them back after a month, you tell hi, "Next time I'll make you throw them away." Then you follow through. Essentially, you've trained your kid to know there aren't any consequences to this behavior. Time to fix it.

That’s when you tell them “next time, they will be taken away” and when they do it, place them in a clear locked container and put it on a shelf where they can see it and can’t play with them.

I give your son credit for standing his ground at a young age. He's already practicing how to establish a perimeter. Next, he will soon practice reconnaissance. Prepare to hide your stuff, OP. Your son is a future spy.

My kid had moon sand and was constantly leaving the mess for me to clean up. I told him if he didn't clean it up, next time I'd throw it away. He didn't so I swept it up and threw it away. He cried and it broke my heart, but he learned that I mean what I say.

I don't have kids but even I know better than to keep cleaning it up for this to happen again. Time to put them away where he can't get to them for at least a week. How old is he, anyway? Probably old enough to know better if he has Legos.

Take the Legos away for a while and start making the child clean up, instead of doing it for him.

you definitely aren't alone here! I have to keep the lego high up on a shelf and my kids have to ask to play with it, then before it gets taken out they have to clean up any cluttered toys on the living room floor and table and once they've got the lego out if they don't pick up lego dropped on the floor it will get swept up into the garbage. they're slowly getting better about picking it up right away if it falls on the floor

Take them away from him. You're the parent. Do your job.
