Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, my 7 year-old looked at me and stated, "When I grow up Mommy I want to be fat just like you." FML
Today, I have discovered that my daughter is struggling with anorexia. When I sat down to talk with her about it, she said it’s because, "all the other kids at school keep calling her fat." She was underweight before, and has now gone to being severely underweight. FML
Today, my 4-year-old daughter asked me when I was going to be skinny like her daycare lady. FML
Today, my 6-year-old daughter walked into the bathroom where I was grumbling about my weight. Seeing how upset I was, she took my hand and said, "Mom, you're not fat. You just look fat." FML
Today, the school called my dad telling him they want to put me on a diet, because they're worried about my weight. FML
Today, I tried to nicely talk to my daughter about her rapid weight gain. Having a family history of weight-related illness, I felt it was necessary. I offered to get thyroid tests, teach her to buy healthy food, and start routine exercise. She told everyone I called her a cow and had fat-shamed her. FML
Today, I was watching my 7 year-old daughter and her friend jump on our trampoline. I was really impressed by all the flips they were doing, and I told her, "Hey! I can't even do that." To that her friend replied, "Of course you can't. You're fat!" FML
Today, I told my kids that our family dog was getting too fat and we should give him a little less food. My youngest daughter whispered to her sister, "Mommy's fat and we still give her food." FML
Today, I overheard my daughter compliment my mother by saying "My mom is way flabbier than you, Grandma." When I told her later that she hurt my feelings, she told me to "man up." She's seven. FML
Today, my patient, a chubby little girl, stood on a scale to measure her weight. She was 5 years-old and weighed 65 lbs. I started giving her advice on eating healthy: fruits, vegetables, and more greens. She turned to her mother with shocked look and said, "But mommy, the doctor is fat too!" FML

Ouch! Children are honest like that. She doesn't mean it in a horrible way, just try it. Who knows?

Off topic here, but that gas mask isn't going to help much without the filter. I have one just like it, but filtered :)

Maybe just a little :p meat on the bones is better than skin and bone. If ya know what I mean. ;) The gas mask isn't mine. The person who owns it put a bong on it where the filter attaches.

Oh c'mon. I've seen people use the wrong 'there' or 'your' left and right, but how the hell do you misspell wearing like that?

She just wants to show you off to her classmates. Plus, children are kind of blunt.

Don't take it as an insult. kids are just brutally honest. Besides you can use that as motivation to get back to the body im sure you once had!

More importantly, do it for your own good, OP.

Ah, the things kids say. I bet everyone said some pretty harsh things when they were younger, too!

Children are blunt, and at least they do not beat round the bush. So you know how she feels.
