Insurance war

Today, I came home to a flooded apartment and water still pouring from the ceiling. The woman who lives above me is shocked that I would consider her responsible for the damage and doesn't think she should have to pay for it. FML

Fall

Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.

Then sue her

Well it's not her fault her floors weren't waterproof, she just wanted to turn the place into a waterpark! You'll be thanking her once she lends you the slip 'n' slide.

She isn't responsible...that's what insurance is for...

As a building Super, she isnt responsible. Unless you can prove she specifically flooded her OWN bathroom just to get yours ruined. Pipes burst, seals leak.

It's not her responsibility to pay for damages. That's what renters insurance is for.

That's actually not true. If she was the cause of the flood, she can be held responsible for said damages. Renters insurance comes in after that, when they have to decide who actually pays for the bill she gets. [EDIT] Same response goed to those posters above saying she isn't responsible. First off, she is IF she is directly responsible for the flood. We can't really judge this based on current info. Secondly, judging by this FML's post, it is likely though she is the cause of said flood. [EDIT]

If you're living in an apartment building, you should be calling the maintenance men to come work on it. You're renting, it's not technically yours.

Take her to judge Judy
