Today, a model I've been working on for an art competition was declined. They thought I was being insensitive and "rudely glorifying 9/11". My model was about the ending scene of King Kong. I spent twenty hours on that model. FML
Collection
Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Today, my Art Director once again turned down a demo model (for an advertisement) that I'd been working on for a week. This time he took his belt off and started thrashing the model to pieces. FML
Back to square one
Today, I created a 3D sculpture for a competition that I was hoping might impress some people, and maybe lead to a job with a particular company. I finished it last night for the competition, but this morning I realised it’s too big to get it out of my front door without taking it apart. FML
Today, I was taking my architecture project to school. I'd spent days preparing my little model house. I stepped outside with it in my hand, and right at that moment a gust of wind ripped it away. It's currently lying in my neighbour's garden, smashed to pieces. FML
Today, I was putting the finishing touches on my portrait of a young boy in art class. I asked my teacher if she could help correct the bad parts of my portrait. She said, "Well that would take all day and I just don't have the time." She was serious. I thought this was my best work yet. FML
Today, despite filling all the parameters for a model employee and being praised by multiple people over the time I was working, I was fired because a client complained to my manager that I didn't seem to know what I was doing. FML
Today, I uploaded my latest picture onto a photography website. It only got one comment, and even that was from someone advising me to never use the same hideous model ever again. It was a self-portrait. FML
Hyperrealism
Today, I was rejected for a dream photography job that involves travelling all over the world, because according to the interviewer, half the photos in my nature portfolio were "blatantly photoshopped." I guess reality isn't realistic enough for some people. FML
Today, I spent a ridiculous amount of time working and reworking a design for a client. Eight hours and many tears later, she sends an email saying, "Let's go with the first design. I liked that one the most." FML
Good boy
Today, I submitted my picture to a rating website. It was rejected because I didn't clarify which person I was. The picture was of my dog and me. FML
Today, I asked my friend who is a fashion major why she didn't want to use me as a model for her senior project. She said my boobs were too big. I doubt it'd have been an issue if I were a girl. FML

Maybe you should have given your model a title to clear up any misunderstanding

so the judges think one building with a gorilla on it represents the twin towers . . . I guess I need to touch up on my history then.

But the Empire State Building has a distinct appearance. It's hard to confuse that with the Twin Towers.

Do these people know the difference between Empire State and World Trade Center?

Exactly what I was thinking. What does King Kong have to do with 9/11
Fayern 13
Everything apparently.

I'm guessing that it was a building with planes around it was all they looked at. OP, if you can't explain their stupidity to them, go to the local press. This the sort of zero-tolerance garbage that news stations love. If they won't accept your entry, shame them for their brainlessness.

That, or OP's model is very indiscernible.

Maybe the OP based the model on the '76 remake which had Kong on the Twin Towers? Although I don't agree, the judges may have seen that and got offended.

clearly they don't. they're Americans, and Americans are dumb.

That's horrible! What style was it completed in? If it was something were interpretation is really needed I can understand how they came to that conclusion. Maybe you could use the model for another competition or put it in your portfolio for future reference?

They thought that with king kong on the building? fyl indeed try selling the model
MrConcise 35
I'll pay OP in hugs and nudes. We could combine the two if they're as good looking as the model. No ****.

Surely you could explain and re-enter it? Good luck!

I'm pretty sure that isn't how al-qaeda attacked the world trade center.
Fayern 13
It would be interesting seeing someone use that as warfare though. Air dropping giant, woman stealing apes? Seems legit.
Zebediabolical 45
Haven't you ever heard of Gorilla Warfare? It's all the rage in Africa and South America apparently.
Fayern 13
Well shit, if THAT'S what they've turned it into I can see why.

I think a lil background information before hand would have saved you the trouble.

I imagine that would be a fantastic model. Try another art competition, OP!

Explain yourself OP. I'm sure once you show them the right meaning they will re-grade it.
