Today, I tried convincing my husband to spend his day off work with me because we both work a lot, and have almost no time to spend together. His literal response was, “I’d rather pick a shift up at work.” FML

Halloween
A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Same thing different taste
Miserable bastard
Today, I called my husband when his shift at work ended to talk about what we needed to do this weekend. He got angry and asked if he could have "five goddamn minutes" after work to get home and change before I started "throwing the fucking to do list at me." FML
Seasick, yet still docked
Today, my husband is "too busy" and refuses to even talk with me for more than two minutes, but has enough time to spend hour-long phone conversations with his buddies. If only I were not stuck with him and our second baby at home during a pandemic… FML
Plan ahead
Today, my husband yet again procrastinated on a project for so long, that he now has to work during the weekend. When I asked whether or not we could still spend some free time together, he started ranting about how I ruin his career. He seriously thinks it's about us and not his horrible planning skills. FML
Big bastard boss
Today, my time off request was rejected, and my boss promptly took the day off himself, claiming he has people coming to work on his house. We work from home. The day in question is my 5-year wedding anniversary. FML
See ya
Today, I had the day off from work. I did all the chores hoping to free up time to spend with my husband tonight. When he came home, he looked around and decided that since there was no need for him to stick around and help clean, he'd head to the bar to watch the game with the guys. FML
Family man
Today, my fiancé told me that his work is more important than our family. We have 2 kids. FML
Nice guy
Today, after an entire week of doing all the household chores, and feeling under appreciated, I suggested to my boyfriend that we go on a date night, to feel a little more connected. He has spent all day trying to get out of it. I offered to pay, because I just want to feel loved again. FML
Compromises
Today, I realized I agreed to go to the gym with my fiancé after being on my feet at work all day because he wants to get fit, but he will not help me remodel the house I’m working on so we can have a bigger place to live, because he doesn’t feel like it. I don’t want or need to go to the gym. FML

Today, my son complained that he didn't want to go to school. My husband asked, "Want to swap? You can go work all day, come home tired, and your only reward is a whiny wife and bratty child griping and complaining and expecting you to fix every problem." Part of me died when I heard that. FML
Kinda ****** up
Today, after presenting my husband with a more than fair request to pay me an hourly wage for being a stay-at-home mom, he laughed his ass off and told me if I want money so badly, I could get a job. He'd rather strangers in daycare raise our babies than pay me what I'm worth. FML

I mean, are you struggling financially? Context matters here. If you're having a hard time I can see why he'd rather work.

Yep - been there, done that - "You work too much!" followed by "We don't have enough money!" Make up your mind, sweetheart.

It kinda sounds like the guy is entitled to a day off, not that she is convincing him to take a day off.

Time to look deep into how you treat him, and how he treats you. Sometimes we start taking our partners for granted. Sometimes we nag more than we reward. It isn't a conscious thing that people do, but it is something that people do.

This has to be literally about me. I remember saying that exact quote to my ex. I was tired of being broke sure but I didn’t enjoy the way the house constantly was either. I just wanted to leave a clean house if we went out. Looking at everything now though makes me wannna say kick him out. At least my story I was constantly worried and constantly struggling to make everything work for us and he kids. Made me cold to her not appearing to put in near the same effort and resulted in me being an abusive piece of shit. Hope whoever this fml is referring to does get to see it so he doesn’t have to make the dumbest mistakes I made out of my whole life

I think you need some ointment for that burn. I guess he’s sleeping outside tonight!

I had to beg my ex of 10 years to marry me. After months of talking to him about what was going on and no strait answer, I realized I shouldn’t have to beg and I left. I face uncertainty financially for the first time in 10 years. But it’s worth it. Point being. Talk first then decide what’s right for you- being shot down and maybe made to feel worthless or being on your own.
