death bed·This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff·Schaumburg, United States
Freaky
Today, I finished my shift at the nursing home. There was too much snow on the roads, so most of us had to stay overnight. Not only did I not get to go home, I also got stuck sleeping in the same bed that a resident had died in the night before. FML
Hopefully they changed the sheets. And hopefully there wasn't a tabby cat named Oscar poking around the room.
But hey, at least you had a bed to sleep in, OP.
I hope they moved the body.
Did they move the body? Anyone? Does anyone know if they moved the body? I mean, this story is 100x funnier if the OP was sleeping with the corpse.

Yes, they'd leave the corpse in the bed and put OP beside it. It's the only thing that makes sense, why even ask?
do you have any idea how nasty the floor in nursing home is? Feces, urine, vomit, and other bodily fluids end up on the floor all the time. Plus I guarantee the sheets where changes, and the hospital beds have a vinyl mattress that is cleaned.
As long as it was natural, it shouldn't be a big deal. Of course, if an axe murderer broke in and chopped off each limb one by one, then I'd be worried.

Yeah, it's kinda creepy if the resident died of natural causes and coincidentally vacated the bed you needed to sleep in. It's a whole 'nother story if you helped him or her off this mortal coil just to have a bed to sleep in -- dunh, dunh, dunh!

It doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world, unless you believe in ghosts and all that.

Hopefully someone washed the sheets.

For some reason it is very hard for me to imagine any situation in which sleeping with a corpse would be funny, even using black humor standards .

#44, I'm guessing "Weekend at Bernie's" was not your favorite movie.

Good call perdix! That movie was hilarious!!

51, try "death becomes her" or "addams family" instead. Death can be funny. However, sleeping with corpse is just too bland to be funny.

It will be dead silent that night

I would look for a armchair to sleep in or something... I just couldn't do it!
