Enlightened centrism
Today, I asked my right-of-center best friend what exactly he hates about Critical Race Theory. His only coherent answer was, “It’s too critical!” This is my son’s godfather. FML

Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I had to explain racism to my son after some of his school friends were talking about it. Another parent then stormed up to us, pissed off because even though I was explaining how bad racism is, just talking about it is itself racist, and he was offended by me. He made my son cry. FML
Today, my son thinks that we’re becoming a dictatorship with a tyrannical government, all because "Kanye West is being attacked for exercising his first amendment rights." I had to explain to him that hate speech is inappropriate, no matter what the Bill of Rights says. He replied, “Facts over feelings.” FML
Today, I found out that my mom is planning on going to my high school's board meeting to complain about her latest boogeyman, Critical Race Theory, being taught. I graduated 17 years ago. She doesn't really know what it is, either. I really wish she could get over her bonkers Facebook groups addiction. FML
Today, my wife announced that she wants to pull our son out of school and homeschool him, because the “liberals” made schools into indoctrination centers that teach children to be, and accept, “gay pedophiles” and other “woke-ass bullshit.” Sometimes I ask myself what I saw in this lunatic lady. FML
Today, my boyfriend doesn’t understand why I don’t care too much for his friend group. He’s pretty mid, but the rest of them are hardcore republicans. It’s not their beliefs that get me, it’s the fact that they’re completely incapable of talking about anything other than politics. I’m so bored! FML
Today, I was actually criticized for giving my kids scientific answers to their questions, instead of dumb downed fairytales. Gotta love the public school system, right? FML
Today, my husband ranted about how children are awful, and parents who claim they love their kids are complete liars, and if everyone admitted that we hated our kids and resented them for existing, there’d be a lot more happy childless couples. We don’t even have kids for him to hate this much. WTF? FML
Today, my son is smarter than average, almost genius level, and he has now reached an age where not only does he question me at every turn, he actually out-argues me 90% of the time and I can’t do anything about it because technically he’s right and I’m wrong. FML
Today, I was bitched out by my 17 year-old son's teacher. It seems the idiot teacher made the kids advocate for his own political beliefs in a presentation, and my son ended his speech saying, "And it remains my opinion that our instructor is cramping my motherfucking style." Instant suspension. FML
Today, after church, my 5-year-old son asked me about God, so I answered his questions in full. We talked about God for over 2 hours. At the end of it all, he pondered for a moment, before saying to me, "That's the stupidest thing I ever heard. You're dumb." FML

"And also there's 'race' in it, so it's totally racist! And it's just a theory anyway, so none of it is proven!"

It saves him trying to explain common sense to someone who obviously has none… like teaching a pig to sing.

The right-wing pricks' howling about Critical Race Theory provides evidence to support the true theory. Derrick Bell's theory is that anytime there is any advancement in anti-discrimination, there will be a conservative backlash. He is spot-on these days.

The reason he can't explain what Critical Race Theory actually means is because the entire plan was to use Critical Race Theory as an umbrella term for any kind of examination of racism. The guy who made using the term popular with conservatives has literally said "The goal is to have the public read something crazy in the newspaper and immediately think 'Critical Race Theory'" Players take the knee to protest black rights - Critical Race Theory. Juneteenth becomes a holiday - Critical Race Theory. Someone gets mugged by a black person - Critical Race Theory. So it's not surprising that the average person can't say what Critical Race Theory is, they're not supposed to be able to explain it.

I honestly hate questions like this, because it's hard to answer them in 5 minutes or less. It's usually not about the point in question itself, but about the circumstances, like how it is used, spread, advertised. Like, when people oppose BLM, they rarely oppose the core idea but rather the execution and all the side-effects/collateral damage that come with it.

It's hard to say "I'm racist" without saying you're racists?

Could you enlighten us and give us a singular example of CRT being advertised outside Fox News and similar far-right "news" outlets? CRT is a branch of sociology, and you'll hardly hear about it outside Social Sciences department in universities. I suggest you go take a look at any "liberal" news outlet. You'll be hard-pressed to find a single reference to CRT other than to show the far-right howling mad about it.
