Fall
Dead leaves, the first cold of the season and an umbrella flipped inside out: fall, the season of grace.
Today, I found out I had gotten a parking ticket while I was travelling a few months back in California. I moved since, so I didn’t know I had it so it increased to 200$ and when I told the guy who was actually driving the car about it, he blocked me. FML
Today, I was pulled over and fined $100 for driving without a license, as I'd accidentally left home without my wallet. I later found my wallet wedged beside my car seat, where it had been the entire time. FML
Today, I received a parking fine for $147. My car isn't even worth that much. FML
Today, my friend and I were driving to Florida from Michigan. While going through Ohio my car hydroplaned over a puddle on the highway. I ended up hitting the median and my car got wrecked. Not only am I stuck in Ohio with a car that won't work, I got a ticket for $300 for hitting Ohio property. FML
Today, I couldn't find my car in a mall parking lot. After 30 minutes of searching, I reported it stolen to the mall security. It turns out that I'd parked it on the opposite side of the mall. Security escorted me to my car, all while giving me pitiful looks. FML
Today, I found that there were charges of almost 2,000 dollars on my bank account. Some asshole in Florida stole my money. I have bills and that was money I saved to buy myself a new car. FML
Today, I had to drive 300 miles to a town where I thought I'd forgotten my purse the night before. When I got to the hotel I had been staying at, I found out it was actually in the trunk of my car. FML
Today, I finally got enough money to buy the car I wanted for a year now. It was stolen today too. I had my car for 4 hours. FML
Today, I got a phone call from a detective in response to my stolen car that has been missing since St. Patrick's Day. He told me that he had found my car, but was chuckling the whole time. Turns out, I had parked my car in a different lot. I haven't had it for a week. It was never stolen. FML
Today, I woke up to the sound of my car being stolen. FML

Fight it!! You shouldnt have to pay if you've filed a police report

I'm sorry! My car got stolen once. The cops actually found it and towed it. Before I could get to it, it was stolen again.

OP would still need to take time out of their day to fight it. Don't know many that don't think going to court is a royal pain in the ass!

Having to pay a $300 parking ticket as a direct result of your car being stolen is a double royal kick in the ass. I'd deal with court to avoid paying a ticket that I didn't cause.

Of course this is coming from V.

Do you know where you are? FML is nothing but a collection of personal problems. Haven't you been paying attention?

No, I think he means personal.

There should be no way they'd make you pay for it if it was stolen

Was it reported to the police as stolen? If so.. wouldn't the other person pay? Easily you can fight for it.

What kind of car thief would pay a ticket??

"Don't worry Homer. I'll make sure you get your car back safe and sound. BRAAAAAAWWWP!"

Step 1: Find the person who stole your car Step 2: Make them pay the fine step 3: Then sue them for theft Step 4: ??? Step 5: profit
Lalala579121 28
Sueing them would probably cost more in lawyer fees than you would actually make from any settlement in this case so... not really any profit there.

You shouldn't have to pay it! At least they found your car. Do they know who took it and was it all in one piece?
