Today, I bumped into a former teacher, one who spent many many weeks helping me get into university so I could become a psychologist. I had to see the look of disappointment on her face when I told her I got pregnant freshman year, and became a stay at home mom with a part time job at Tesco’s. FML

A failed costume, stolen candy and a very real scare: Halloween, the one night when fear is allowed.
Today, I bumped into an old school friend. I'd heard she was pregnant so the first thing I did was congratulate her. Not only was she not pregnant, but the reason she managed to get so fat was because of comfort eating due to her miscarriage last month. FML
Today, at a supermarket, I ran into a girl I knew in high school. She had two kids with her and they were buying school supplies. My cart was full of beer and snacks. After a chat, she left, not before saying, "I hope things get better for you." I have a job and a girlfriend. FML
Today, I talked to my ex from Uni for the first time in 10 years. I told her my wife and I just had a baby, and her immediate response was, "I WAS A BABY ONCE!" What the hell did I see in her? FML
Today, I had to go along with my mom to meet some of her old friends from high school. When they asked her about how her life was going, she said she was married, always traveling, no kids, and introduced me as the neighbor's kid she babysits. FML
Today, my mom was helping me plan for going to college. After 30 minutes of me getting more upset, and her getting more frustrated, she directed me to Tinder, a wedding venue website, and the local address for Planned Parenthood. Her actual words were, "There's no shame in being a stay at home dad these days." FML
Today, I got fired for not being mature enough. I just found out I’m pregnant. FML
Today, I’m going to school to become a therapist. Now anyone I tell that to, they now vomit their life stories to me. FML
Today, I, a person who has graduated high school, encountered one of my high school teachers in public. The one known for her rampant ableism against me and tendency to get heated when people don't respond immediately to her when she talks. I've had horrible social anxiety for several years. Do the math. FML
Today, I had to call a parent and tell them that their special needs daughter is pregnant. FML
Today, I took my transfer student, who I am hosting for her year of study in America, to the doctor. It turns out that she is pregnant, and my teenage son is the father. FML

Do you still want to go back and become a psychologist? There are ways to make that happen later in life.

Go back to school and finish your degree. I finished my degree as a single mom to 4 kids and am now in law school. You don't HAVE to piss away your educational dreams. However, if you're happy with your currebt situation, that's ok too! But if you're not, then go finish. Don't use "But I'm a mom" as an excuse!

If you WANT to be a stay-at-home mom, f*ck what she thinks--raising a kid is just as important as a fancy career. It's your choice what you do with your life, and what you're doing is part of keeping society running.
